Actually, no-one has any real idea what Kobo are releasing or when. Kobo have asked for FCC clearance for two readers. But, whether they are released at the same time we don't know. Kobo haven't released two new devices at the same time since the Glo, Mini and updated Touch were released. Early last year, it looked like they were going to release the Glo HD and the Touch 2, but the latter wasn't released until much later in the year. It's completely possible that one of the devices will come out "soon", and the other will come out early next year.

The evidence suggests the 7.8" device will be out soon, but I haven't seen anything more for the 6" device.

So one is named edition one and the other edition two. That is all.

No, one is called the "Kobo Aura One" and the other something like "Kobo Aura Edition 2". The former seems to be the 7.8" device, and the latter seems to be the 6" device. With the size and name like "Kobo Aura Edition 2", it sounds like it is a direct replacement/update for the "Kobo Aura" (6" device with no modifiers). There seems to be even less information about this device than the "Kobo Aura One", so we have no real knowledge of what it is.

They both have their advantages and their disadvantages. For me, the advantage of e-ink is battery life and the ability to read in bright light (be it sun or otherwise) easily. The disadvantage so far is the backlight in a dark environment: it won't go dark enough without losing too much contrast. So, that's when I switch to a tablet, which I can turn very dark, adjust some colours and still have a good enough contrast.

One advantage of a flush screen is no shadows from the indented bezel.

To me it screams "You can hold it with your thumb on the bezel and not accidentally turn the page, because you can feel the edge". I find flush screens very pretty, but bezels have a practical purpose for some also.

I think you get some terms confused...

The Voyage does have a bezel. Actually almost every single device out there has a bezel. (the Galaxy S6/S7/Note Edge are probably one of the few exceptions). The bezel is the area around the screen.

But on some devices, the bezel is higher than the screen (all IR e-readers have this, for example). A flush screen means that the bezel and the screen do not have any height difference (about all tablets, phones and the capacitive touch ereaders).

Oh my mistake... when I say 'bezel' I mean indented bezel... as opposed to the Voyage, which has a flush bezel. Ill edit it now. Apologies!!!

I didn't say that they would release simultaneously. I disagree with your reading of the evidence. An accidental leak of the 8'' one doesn't convince me that will be the first one out the door. The fact of the matter is that the Kobo Glo HD has been on clearance off and on all summer. That suggests to me that if either releases first it will actually be the 6'' reader followed by the immediate discontinuation of the Glo HD.

What are you talking about? It's obviously an ereader with specs shown on the FCC clearance. We can't count a leaked description on a Dutch website as real knowledge either, so we know pretty much the same about both models.

lol the bezel is not recessed, the screen is recessed. And it's the capacitive touch layer that reduces contrast and clarity. So the capacitive touch screens are the ugly ones to me. I thought that Kobo understood that when they went back to IR screens. I have to wait and see on these new readers.

I looked back over the FCC filings and I'm wrong. But this is wrong too. BOTH Kobo devices are called the Kobo Aura One. The FCC filing differentiates them by model number but the names are the same. It will be up to Kobo to differentiate them name-wise when they release them.
