Agreed. I prefer third party covers. There's nothing that says you have to buy their cover. I have a $10 cover on my Glo HD.

Or even use a cover at all....I tried using a cover on my 6.8" Kobo Aura HD...hated it. The flap is annoying on a device that large. I use it w/o cover. Keep it in a padded sleeve when not in use.

Maybe they could include a cover, but then you'd have the people that don't want a cover that, naturally, don't want to pay for it. Or those that don't like the default cover and prefer a custom made one.

FYI per support the new device suffers from the windows 10 issue. Support was frazzled at the windows 10 issue, I got them to admit it impacts the new one and they have no clue whats causing it.

I don't see eliminating margins as an improvement. Apparently you do. Luckily Kobo allows us to each have it our own way.

You think that a "good ereader should go above and beyond what a paper book used to be" which is I think a curious attitude for someone that reads off of e-ink readers to take. They are meant to emulate the look of paper. Why not use a tablet? An lcd screen has far superior contrast. Is it just about battery life?

Ereaders are easier to use outside than a tablet.
With an ereader I can adjust the font size.
Not to mention an ereader is generally lighter than a tablet.

So yes an ereader should go beyond paper.
Just because the text looks like paper does not mean it cannot do more than paper.
I for one would hate to try to read Atlas Shrugged in paperback font.
Can you read this? Atlas Shrugged is about half that size.

The thing that's good is with a Kobo, we can adjust the book & margins on the device to how we like. I do this and it works well for me. I know others might like wider margins and wider line height. But that's OK. But you can get it your way, not the way someone else said it has to be.

If the €229 price at wehkamp.nl was correct, then it looks like it'll cost between £179 and £195 in the UK.

That's expensive, but not as much as the Kindle Oasis. Though I suppose that comes with a free cover...

But you can get a good cover for less than the difference. The Oasis is £269.99.

Yes, even a cover from Kobo would be less than the difference.

Plus, you have a choice of covers because you're not forced to have one with a battery.
