may I ask why? is using reset somehow dangerous or harmful for the device?
The problem with reset after a jailbreak is it may or may not erase everything.

There have been problems with people resetting when they should have been restarting.

So unless one knows exactly what might happen do not reset.

No real need to reset anyway unless there is a major problem.

Also that blue is rather hard to read. Pretty yes, readable not so much.

The KOA and KT3 owners must use these new installation methods.
These new installation methods will also work on all models covered in this thread.

is this an alternate method that works on KV too?

I am using magnifier to invert colors so I am color blinded

Hmm...
Perhaps not on the PW-2, because the directions tell people to skip the step that installs the ;log mrpi search bar command.

I'll have to ask the 'hotfix' maintainer if it is packaged for the PW-2.

And then 'fix' the directions, one way or the other.

For future reference, bright blue and bright yellow are especially hard to read.

Unsuccessful on KT2
I tired this on my KT2 (kindle Basic 2014) I successfully installed everything on the factory image but at step 7 when I connected to the internet and let my kindle update the update never finished and said:

'kindle needed repairing error code: 2'

Luckily I was able to add a blank file DO_FACTORY_RESTORE to the usb storage and it completed a factory restore.

This is a warning to those who have a KT2. I would love to hear any input from those that have been able to successfully jailbreak their KT2.

And we would love to hear what the first six characters of your serial number is.
And how much free space you have on the visible portion of USB storage.
And what was the firmware version on your KT2 before your downgrade attempt.
And what happens when you follow Amazon's directions to manual install the update (also, please mention the firmware version of the update).

Translation:
Without technical details, your post is worthless.

PS:
You are the first one to report a problem with the KT2 update out of many thousands of devices, so we have to first suspect something local to your attempt.

Replace m.reddit.com with www.reddit.com, and visit it on a desktop browser or visit the desktop website on your phone. The image is normal sized; the mobile website stretches it to match the width of your browser.

Red face Jailbreak on KV
I tried this on my KV. Everything happened perfectly but after connecting to internet for update of software, the kindle shows message:

'kindle needed repairing error code: 2'
In panic i formatted kindle and on pressing the button, it continuously restart.

I tried adding a blank file DO_FACTORY_RESTORE to the usb storage but unable to get factory restore.

After that i panicked, i deleted all files that were shown in USB drive on connecting to computer. I formatted the drive. But same message came

Finally i downloaded software update 5.8.1 from amazon and load on kindle and it started working.

Fearing to try jailbreak again.

Still curious why the mobile site shows my avatar, when the desktop site shows a kindle. The software that does that surely has a name, though its qualification as "no one" lends merit to your claim. In the future when AI gets many previously human rights just like corporate entities have now, and AIs take over most secure and mundane software tasks, perhaps no longer true.

i got connected to amazon and after deregistering my account i got this file in my kindle
your kindle is no longer a test kindle and is unable to test previoulsy singed by authorized developers i installed hotfix. but i cant see kual on my list i can only find kual by searching
