Have to love it. Toronto has some islands just off shore in Lake Ontario which act as a large park. My wife has some friends who were arranging a picnic so of course we are going. Entire I asked if we were meant to bring anything.. oops a fruit plate. So a quick stop at a grocery store and we're set. Find parking not too far from the ferry and make our way over. Instructions were very simple; first left from the ferry dock.

So we get to the islands, turn left walk a bit and no sign of them. I suggest that I stop where we are, and guard all the bags. Off she goes, and an hour later, no sign of them. She comes back and tries again; still no go.

So two hours later we give up and head back to the ferry :-(

Why oh why can't she have got a cell number for these friends!

Oh well... I got to sit in the sun for a few hours!

Gout sucks! It sucks, it sucks, it sucks!

Hubby's whole foot is swollen and puffy. This day three of this horrible nightmare. It has moved into the flu like stage. Fever, chills, aches everywhere.

I've never seen it get this bad. I'm barely over the salmonella poisoning and now this. He hasn't had an attack in over a year and now he is having the worst one of his life. Gout sucks!

Sorry to hear that. Hope he doesn't work on his feet. I've never had gout (I don't think), but I've had pain so severe at times in my feet (fortunately not for years, now) that I needed cortisone shots. At such times I could barely walk. It's no fun when your feet don't work.

The swelling is going down finally. The strawberries is working. I don't know why they work but they do. I texted my sister to bring more.

Not the way I had planned on spending my afternoon.

Oh wow. They deactivated ours the same day the fraud was spotted.
We were also offered the chance to go to the bank and get a temporary card.

There wasn't any fraud, just a "potential compromise at an undisclosed merchant", I have been keeping an eye on it and nothing has been done since then.

They did immediately de-activate the first replacement they sent me (which will now show up tomorrow) just in case, they just didn't want to deactivate my original card since it wasn't clear that there was a problem and they were just re-issuing it in an abundance of caution.

When we first open our bank account they told us our card would coming the mail. Two weeks later nothing. We called and they said they send another. Another week goes by nothing. We had to have the card sent to our bank and pick it up there. No cards ever showed up here.

Ack. How frustrating. I hope it gets to you this time.

I don't know why I always have so much trouble with misplacing my Paperwhite! Unfortunately, this time I think I left it in the park. In that case, it is gone.

So, I am on the earlier-generation Kindle WiFi. I miss the lighting.
