Physical device connection:
Nothing about KOReader or calibre will either cause or prevent your Kindle from connecting as a USB Mass Storage Device. ![]() I am unsure how you check for detected physical devices -- on Linux I would run `dmesg` to see the kernel event log. ... Wireless Device connection: If the problem is connecting as a wireless device, the first thing to check is, can you access the Content Server from the Kindle using the builtin browser? |

Screen not fully refreshed after quitting?
I'm using the latest version on both my pw1 and pw3.
I'm facing an issue with the screen either fully(pw1) or partially(pw3) not getting refreshed after quitting Koreader. The last Koreader screen - with the menu and the current page of the book or the file manager screen remains visible. I have to start the screensaver to get a clean screen. Any way around this? |

@nasser: Define "latest version". This should have been fixed long, long ago in the nightlies.

is there a possibility to change default file types for KOReader to open?
I am using KPV Booklet and don't want KOReader to open pdf/txt (for example) from my PW2 main menu |

It is KPV booklet that assigns the mime types to be handled with KOreader. In answer to your question: Yes. Make the changes in the database that KPV booklet modified. For inspiration (since you did not specify what you wanted changed nor what it should be changed to), see: https://github.com/koreader/kpvbooklet specifically, the mimes.{install, uninstall}.sql scripts. Then, once you have those scripts edited to your liking (the uninstall to take out what you don't like, the install to add what you do), the commands would be: Code:
sqlite3 /var/local/appreg.db < mimes.uninstall.sql sqlite3 /var/local/appreg.db < mimes.install.sql Then you could see what all it contains and how the information is organized. sqlite3 is pre-installed on your Kindle. While doing your changes, you will probably notice that a KPVbooklet install/uninstall sequence is non-deterministic. Been that way forever and nobody seems to mind it. ![]() Last edited by knc1; 08-05-2016 at 10:40 AM. |

knc1,
thank you for your answer don't think I am qualified enough for this, but it worth trying :-) I want to exclude from KPV Booklet everything that my PW2 can do without KOReader |
