@Derell Licht - if you have MS Word, and you know how to use it, then you could use Toxaris' e-Book Tools - a Word add-in. Firstly to convert the ePubs out of calibre into Word, then you can use the raft of addin features, many of which are specifically aimed at post OCR cleanups, within the context of Word's WSYWIG interface, and then convert it back to epub.

Then you can use Sigil to clean up any specific formatting/typographical issues.

I'm surprised Toxaris himself didn't mention it

Nah, why would I with an advocate like you? Anyway, importing an ePUB into Word can also be handled with the add-in.

That's what I meant, but it didn't come out right

So, using ebook-tools:

import epub onto Word,
make changes with ebook-tools and Word
export to HTML->ePub

Actually, I use OpenOffice Writer rather than actual MS Word; I'll have to see if Word addins can be used in Writer or not... If so, that sounds like an excellent solution!!

No, MS Word addins are not compatible with LibreOffice.

Actually I've wanted to this some years ago.
The MS and LO Basics are not compatible. And MS Basic used high level functions which OL Basic had not. To port this plugin one will have to be expert in both languages... it means one will have to love both Microsoft and Linux... not many of this sort around...
I was (and am) Linux fun, so, after some hours on it, not wanting to learn MS-speak, I gave up

I like them both a hell of a lot. Not sure if "love" applies to either, though. I'm just not interested in learning any proprietary programming/scripting languages.
