No! I knew it had to exist, the internet being the beast that it is, but I was refusing (resisting the urge?) to look. Curse you Ricky, curse you! -smiley raising a shaking fist that sadly isn't in the list to choose from-

The problem with "religions" is most [all?] of them are based on faith and not proof. So none of them can be right.. or wrong.

Well, Scientology can be wrong because it claims alien overlords and we know that is not true. Now robot overlords. That I could believe in.

Not a Scientologist, but I find alien overlords and virgin birth equally weird and unlikely. Then again, I find all of the ancient mythology associated with the Buddhist philosophy to be strange and highly improbable.

Only pains without having fun nine months before? Virgin birth seems to be much more weird to me...

Sure, but isn't the creation of the world just as unlikely. It just "happened"? I guess we will never know. And if we do at some point know.. then we can never tell anyone that doesn't know.... you know?

Bad mental image. Resisting urge to google LOLCat and Nazis...

I suspect (but ... cannot prove) that some day they will discover that every once in a while there is an dimensional energy burst from one parallel universe to another that causes a big bang in the otherwise empty space of the other universe.

My hypothesis is not completely off the wall, and is borne out by some predictions of string theory. But, of course, that begs the question of how did all those parallel universes come into being.

Now, if the Bible had begun with general physics and worked its way into string theory and parallel universes, instead of gardens and begats, well, then I might have not tossed it out as interesting fiction.

But, alas ..... it was not to be.
