Here we go again: on my Paperwhite (gen 7) and Kindle (gen 6), Page Flip didn't appear until after a restart (both had not been updated for a couple of weeks at least). My HD6 is now on 5.3.1, and at least a couple of the books on there (just downloaded) are supposed to support Page Flip.

I bought my HD 6 last week and it was used. Got it through Amazon though. When I got it I immediately started pressing the check for updates button. Five or six updates later it finally got to to latest release. After that, it started DLing multiple components and gradually installed them. So it took a long time, but eventually got finished.

I haven't verified the Page-Flip feature in Kindle yet, but I have noticed that the Kindle app on my HD 6 seems to screw up the farthest read sync more often than not. I have to manually sync it everytime, and it still can be way off. I thought the Kindle app on the Fire was supposed to auto sync when you closed a book or the app. It auto syncs well on my iPhone, iPad, and Voyage. Not sure why it won't sync well on my HD 6.

It seems that installing the 5.3.1 update from Amazon's Fire & Kindle Software Updates page is not sufficient by itself to enable page flip. I used Device Options/System Updates in Settings to check for further updates and it found and installed six "component updates". After that page flip started working for me.

I have the Page Flip on my HD8 and it's still on 5.14. Updates for the Kindle app are separate from the system updates.

Yes, as a couple of us mentioned above there are some component updates that will occur. I saw at least 8 component updates after 5.3.1.0 installed. One of those must have been the Page Flip feature and other Kindle stuff.

The "component update" feature does make it difficult to tell if you are up-to-date with the firmware. It still shows the OS version as 5.3.1.0 and I don't see any way to tell what features the component updates contain or to determine the individual versions of the built-in OS components, such as the Kindle book reading app.

All I remember is seeing a message that I had 8 components left to update and it was counting down as it installed each one. The system did not need to restart after the component updates, so I might never have noticed them if I had not returned to the Update screen to see if all the updates finally finished.

5th gen Fires (Fire, HD8, HD10) continue to run 5.3.1.0.

6th gen Fires (HD8) continue to run 5.3.1.1.

My Fire HD 6 updated to 5.3.1.1 on its own. It seems rather sluggish now, more than usual.

Hi, I'm from Spain and my Fire HD 8 (6th gen) has updated to 5.3.2.0 with Alexa App, however the app doesn't work in my country.

My Fire HD 6 has been stuck at 5.1.1 since last February. Unless there's a compelling reason to do the update manually, I'll probably just live with it.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. It's nice to know that 5.3.2 is rolling out. That update is intended for 5th and 6th generation Fires. I wish Amazon would include 4th gen Fires in the update. I really would like Alexa on my 4th gen HD 6.
