The method worked with some mistakes: I see no Coll_Manager screen updating, pop-up menus not visible.
However the problem was solved.

Hi all - a little bit of advice, please. I've updated my wife's Kindle Touch to firmware 5.3.7.3 and installed the jailbreak, KUAL, MrPI and screensaver hack (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=195474)
All was well and I added the Collection Manager .azw2 from post #1. And that works fine.

But I had previously installed an older Collections Manager which still shows up in the menu. I think it was version 1.7.11 from the time in 2013 when we bought our KTs. That also still shows up on the home screen so there are two apparently identical entries for Collections Manager, one that works and one that won't work with 5.3.7.3

Can you tell me how to uninstall the older version of Collections Manager, please? Thanks in advance

What do you see in /documents?
Delete the old one just like any other 'book'.

@jfiz: @ADambi graciously provides a compiled version each time he provides a patch (because I've been utterly terrible at merging those :x), so simply grab the .azw2 in his attachment, and use that

@jfiz: You don't need the patch file, no. But your device does need to be jailbroken, yes.

(Basically, everything said in the first post applies, except you're using @ADambi's azw2 file).

The patch is for development purposes only. The .azw2 is the only interesting thing from an end-user perspective.

Use the .azw2 as though it were the one attached to the first post in the thread -- which means follow Ixtab's directions. For obvious reasons, those directions include ''make sure your device is jailbroken".

I'm using the collections manager but it seems to have trouble rendering and I kind of have to "feel around" for the buttons and icons. I'm using a PW3 and the version just posted for firmware 5.8.1. Any ideas what this might be? (other than rendering it appears to work just fine).

By 'feel around' you mean the touch sensitive spot is not aligned with the graphic?

Note that the poster has a PW2 and your using a PW3.
Different screen resolutions, different screen dimensions (in pixels).

@krupped: Touch feedback in CM is potentially strange when you're not used to it. Everything may actually be working perfectly fine.

There used to be a screenshot roughly explaining how things work, have you checked that?

@knc1: in this instance, I mean feel around for a non-existent graphic. I opened up the menu to synchronize my collections (import). The first menu with four entries (kindle store, display options, sort options, and synchronization) rendered properly, but after pressing synchronization, the second set of options does not appear at all, I guessed that the menu was still there and just not rendered and tried different locations until I found the right entry. Is there somewhere I can change the expected resolution? I would be happy to modify something and try it out.

@NiLuJe: That may be true, I've looked at the screenshots and there are parts of what does render that look correct, but it seems to have trouble rendering certain graphics (instead showing nothing at all). This is particularly frustrating with respect to the menus.
