It only feels like 114, and then there is:
https://www.wunderground.com/news/sa...atlantic-basin Which you might not have noticed in your part of the world, but that stuff outside isn't your usual, local, West Texas, dust. Its imported today and tomorrow. |

Sorry, that was a mis-placed post.

I posted about this before but I kind of gave up and I think I really need to upgrade now. My situation:

The bridge (as bundled in the hotfix) contains everything you need to ensure your jailbreak is fully up to date.
(Whether that is required... well, as knc1 said, making sure the bridge is up-to-date can't hurt, even if it turns out you were already up-to-date anyway. ![]() Do not bother installing or updating any hacks e.g. usbnet before updating, since firmware updates will wipe them out anyway and you will have to reinstall them after the update regardless. |

I was referring to the bridge in the zip attached to this thread, isn't that enough? Should I use the one in JailBreak-1.14.N-FW-5.x-hotfix.zip instead then?

They are both the bridge.
The hotfix is just signed differently to accommodate changes in Amazon's update verification methods on post-5.6.x firmware. Also, the hotfix is functionally identical to the bridge from NiLuJe's snapshots, which are more up-to-date than the release version attached to this thread. |

The one attached to this thread has not yet been updated to contain the:
;log mrpi command and the code to bridge it. But that will probably change in the near future. Once it seems there are no more 'unknown' Kindle models out there. |

(Note that I sneakily refreshed *every* release zips with current snapshots -- without a version bump -- to avoid potential SNAFUs for Oasis/KT3 users).
TL;DR: Right now, the release zips and the current snapshots match ![]() |

But taking what you said into account, the release zips now are more up to date than the hotfix right? Can I just apply the bridge attached to the thread then? I guess I'm just not clear if given my situation both are interchangeable ![]() |

OR - -
Better to do just the opposite - Always check the snapshots thread first, if what you need is there, use that one. It will either be the same or in advance of the one attached to a thread. Translation: The thread attachments are never in advance of the snapshot. You can ignore numeric strings in the file names, the above is always true. Last edited by knc1; 07-24-2016 at 08:52 PM. |

? ? ? ?
All you will gain by not following the directions here is the addition of the ;log mrpi search bar command. This is a "Single Step - Everything Included" jail break procedure. The 'hotfix' package is a part of the current "Three Step - Individually packaged components" jail break procedure. And if your writing about a PW-2, then you never reach the 'hotfix' step. Just stick with what is written, no being inventive or mixing of threads. We have already taken care of any dependencies if you stay with a single set of (supported / maintained) directions. *I also found out that the latest fw for my PW2 is 5.8.1, does the same principle apply if I simply update to this version instead of the 5.7.x? |
