I don't have the Max 13.3, but on my T68+ a 64gb card is recognised fine, so I'd suspect the same to hold for the Max. I think you're largely restricted to using a fat32 file system, but that's an issue of the ancient android version.

Depends on whether the host device supports SDXC. SDHC is restricted to max. 32GB, so 64GB cards are made to SDXC specification.
SDXC specification also requires exFAT file system and the card reader manufacturer decides whether they want to enforce this in the firmware (so some host devices may not recognize the card if it's formatted to another file system). Some older card readers made before introduction of SDXC can be firmware-upgraded to support SDXC, but supporting SDHC specification (and capacities) doesn't guarantee SDXC support. If the device was made after 2009 it's likely that SDXC support is explicitly mentioned. |

Finally got my Max! I haven't had the time to play too much with it yet (I'll have to re-read this topic for all the suggestions) but so far so good! The scribbler is a bit hard to hand-write into rapidly. The only thing that is not working so far is my TTRSS Reader feed app (I really hoped I could read the news on the Max), which installs and configure fine, but then doesn't manage to download the updated feeds and it loads ad infinitum.
Booxtor: any news on kitkat for the Max? |

Overall not impressed with this device
I returned it back . Good customer service I would wait for Goodreader 13.3 or the new release of Sony DPTS-1 |

The Sony has been discontinued and there is no specific news of a newer device coming out. And don't hold your breath for ANYTHING from Goodreader. It would have been helpful to our members if you had discussed WHY you were not impressed with the device you sent back. |

This is my opinion only
The OS seems sluggish The resolution is not good. Even there own instructions on screen are fading Uploading from Kindle or Drop box is slow Ghosting When you type on inbuilt keyboard the letters flash Okay so why do you say' don't hold your breath for ANYTHING from Goodreader The thought on the features on Onyx 13.3 are good but they really need to improve . May be the next upgrade will be better |

Goodreader 13.3 inch reader production difficulties is like many Kickstarter projects. Good intentions but under estimating difficulties with hardware manufactures and software. Maybe they can have better results with next improved version.

I use my e-reader to read, I can spent many hours (10, 20 or more) on the same technical book or read a novel. With my M92 I regret that it's impossible to change the font in the Onyx's PDF reader (so I use FBReader for the novels) or I couldn't change the margins. After, I only turn the pages, or mark a page. All this things are about the reading experience. I'm surprised by your arguments. Dropbox ? With a 32 GB SDcard, many books could be stored. Wifi and Keyboard usage ? IMHO a e-reader isn't a tablet, the usage of a keyboard function is rare or it's not the good device to use. A e-ink device isn't an LCD device with a high refresh rate of the screen. The e-readers aren't perfect, but to read, I prefer them. You said that the resolution is too low, maybe. The M92 has the same resolution, a better resolution will be better, but it's really usable. Some users expect the same usage of a e-ink device and a tablet. I think that, for the moment, it's impossible. It's necessary to choose between the advantages and disadvantages of each technology. Have you some arguments to reject the Onyx Boox Max when it used only in the aim of reading ? |

Hello,
As for me, the onyx boox max keeps its promises : I am able to take notes very easily with the OnyxScribbler application. It is possible also to use other note taking applications (e.g. quill) but they are a bit slow, probably because they are more cpu demanding. But currently there is a major bug in OnyxScribbler application which should be quickly addressed : sometimes, OnyxScribbler stops working, you are then asked if you want to wait for the application or kill it, like on Windows/Microsoft. Up to now, if I choose to kill it, it erases all the notes I have taken previously !! Quite annoying ! Fortunately, it is just a software bug. Could the developers address this issue as soon as possible ? Best regards |
