The 'reset' wiped out the 'hotfix' package's actions.
re-install the 'hotfix' Note: changing the registration will also wipe out the 'hotfix' package and require that it be re-installed. |

Directions update to reflect the new PW-3 support.
The newer version of the PW-3 factory firmware (**should**) support the PW-3 better than that older version, it (**should**) also support the PW-3W. Files are up, pastebin index to be updated RSN. But if you had to guess, the version string is 5.7.4 rather than 5.6.1.1 (edit it by hand). KT-3 is still unseen by anyone, so nothing can be said about it. Yeah, that's the one ![]() I don't remember the exact error the b0rked 4G PW2 releases threw, but this seems to be in the same vein... Code:

Was wondering that too, but since we have it working on other devices on FW 5.8.1, I'm going to say no?
I don't think it throws that kind of error either in these cases. |

I'm happy to report that I successfully downgraded too my Kindle Touch (KT2 - serial number 90C6) from 5.7.8.1 to 5.6.0. The whole process took around 15 minutes, I had it plugged to the wall just to be safe. Applied the jailbreak too. Now off to decide what to add to my jailbroken (thanks to everyone here) device!
The guide was super easy to follow. Thanks for all the work you guys put into this!! You rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I can't answer that until someone does and tells us of the result.
It **should** - - I don't think we have had any KOA trouble reports (it also runs a factory-5.7.4). Go for it and let us know. We will see that you get your eulogy engraved on a Kindle brick: "He died trying" Last edited by knc1; 07-08-2016 at 11:46 PM. |

Hmmm... It's too early for an eulogy... I haven't GOT a PW3 yet!
![]() ![]() Anyway, Let me first express my thanks for the great work done by you experts in the last few days to roll out the "one JB to rule them all"! I had asked in April about Branch Delay's method. Found it would only work for 5.6.5. After that, I kept pondering over whether or not to go in for a new PW3 (I have a PW1). Every time, Amazon announced a discount, I would again ponder hard. Yesterday, they announced a lightning deal and I took the plunge and ordered. I then came to the forum and was wonder struck to see the new JB announcement. (Question: Will this JB increase kindle sales for Amazon? ![]() Going through the post, I found the bit about the kindle serial numbers. Meanwhile, though my PW3 is yet to reach me, Amazon had already updated my account with it's serial number. It's the one with the most hangs(I think): G090G1. So, I'll wait. |

@nasser: Quite possibly because it's (by far) the most common variant (sold all around the world, WiFi only). I wouldn't peg the hangs on that

When you wonder where your bandwidth went . . .
https://translate.google.com/transla...ml&prev=search Well, at least they spelled my name correctly. https://translate.google.com/transla...ml&prev=search https://translate.google.com/transla...ml&prev=search And https://translate.googleusercontent....ETuB9UcXswmVVA They have a reference (and a copy) of geekmaster's archive index also. This is all coming to an end RSN. Which means I will lose a day or two of productive time, filtering out the bandwidth thieves (we three pay for this out of our own pockets, not Mobileread, not anyone from China). Anyway, after that KUAL worked as expected, in that it gave me a menu & when I added extensions, they appeared in the menu. About to try registering & configuring networking - Any advice in terms of recommended actions (if any) after re-registering, etc, in terms of setting things up to try & safeguard the JB capabilities against future OTA firmware updates? [1] How does that sort of thing get discovered? Any pointers to the background/behind-the-scenes about it? Last edited by gwynevans; 07-09-2016 at 05:51 AM. |
