It's cute, I don't think I've ever seen one that offers such a complete identity before now. I wouldn't use it for main characters, but for walk-on parts it could be handy ... but I see it has a requirement for attribution. It's not onerous but things get messy enough without adding more stuff to the copyright page.

I wouldn't use it. I have no trouble coming up with names for characters.

Here's three:

Smerl Smorson [an ogre]

Smort Smerlton [a banker]

Smert Smelton [a used car dealer]

See? No problem!!!!

You know, about, 6-7 years ago--the last editing client I ever took (long, long boring story)--I used a web app that listed everything of note that would have happened in a character's lifetime, based on the hypothetical DOB. It was something like this: http://you.regettingold.com/

What makes me feel old is going into the store and seeing DVD's with the words "30th Anniversary Edition" printed on the cover paper. I would have been a young teenager when some movies came out. lol.

For me it's not so much with the movies as with games - these age faster.
When there's the "next big thing" in some game genre - I remember having played the 1st and 2nd game in it ever. Remember the actual improvements between both of them and notice, that since then nothing really happened apart from the graphics getting better.


Or music on the radio making me feel completely alienated.
