You can do batches of 10 from your Manage your content but you will have to send them to the kindle for PC app. There is no transfer from computer there.

It's the one with the SD Slot. It runs a hybrid of Android.

Shades if you are referring to a Kindle Fire we have a forum for those questions.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=243

As for a Windows 10 tablet you are limited to what apps it can run due to the windows store being limited in itself for quality. I'd stick with the Kindle Fire for reading. PDFs would work better on the Win 10 tablet though.

Thank you Blossom. I am still waffling weather to use my laptop or my win 10 tablet to manage Calibre. I think it would be really nice to have all the books on the RCA. Still thinking the lap top would be easier to have as the base for the Calibre and send books out to my tablets. AH what to do???
I did manage to down load Calibre on the RCA tablet. Everything worked as far as I know how to work it yet.

I have not done much with the Kindle Fire HD 8. Another different system of apps for me to learn and I am already having enough trouble with the new little RCA and even my laptop is a new to me machine in win 10. I was used to win 7. When I am comfortable with Calibre I will go to the KFHD8 and start playing with it.

I wonder if all books were added to lap top if I then saved that file to disk if I could just transfer the information to the RCA.

The day is getting by me. I have so many chores that need to be done before I can play. I want to make a trip to the dump to hunt for some window glass out of discarded windows. I need it for backing for some mosaic pieces I am doing for a friend. Recycle is always good and the county does not send the glass to recycle , just the window frames, and I am free to take what I want.

I was reading at the Calibre forum and when I get more time I will check out the KFHD8. It is a nice looking tablet. Will be fun when I learn how to use it.

Thanks Again Chris

Need to figure how to do that. One at a time is so slow. I did take note I had 1330 books at Amazon Cloud. I know nothing like all of you have but my life is a bit busy right now. I would like nothing better than to spend days and nights reading. Just not possible. I do usually get a book or two a week done by reading before I go to sleep at night.

You go to your account at Amazon. Scroll down to Manage your content.
Then check the first 10 books, click on Deliver then on the next screen, pick kindle for PC.
All will go into a document file probably labeled Amazon.

Or you could just put the kindle app on your RCA and deliver to there.

You are welcome.
And in other news, got the back room redone with enough room to put that spin chair.
Back room is crafts and laundry room.
Now I can get to my cookbooks in the library.

That is great news. A room done is always a good thing.

I did work on my studio for a little clean up the other day. Feel better in there. I still have one project on the bench and two projects waiting for me to come back to them. Creating their own little messes but I tried to make those areas as tidy as I can.

Walked to the post office and it is so sultry out side. I am feeling a thunder storm coming on. I would love the rain but the lightening frightens the dog.

I am working on a few projects myself. One is a customized set of baby blocks.

She has a Kindle Fire, passed along from a friend. She also has an RCA Cambio, which is a Windows machine. The one she's talking about is the Cambio.

Who cares about the Windows store? There are at least two programs I know of that should run on the Cambio and display eBooks. One is the older version of FBReader, available for Windows, Linux, and OS/X. The other is the open source SumatraPDF viewer, which displays ePub, Mobi, DjVu, and CBR/CBX (comic book) files as well as PDFs. SumatraDF is Windows only.

But yes, the Fire is an alternative platform she can use for eBooks.

Not FBReader it does a horrible job on formatting. I think Blue Fire has released a reader for Windows although I haven't tried it just the mobile version which was pretty good.

Freda is what I use on my phone. I paid the $1.99 to get rid of ads. It will also work with Windows 10.

There is also Calibre's built in Reader.

Bookviser looks interesting alot like yBook which was I used back in the old days before Microsoft Reader and Mobipocket Reader.

I've just sorted my clothing.

When it comes to laundry I'm very lazy. In the laundry room I have one of those plastic storage boxes with a lid and I keep my clean clothing in it. The idea Is that I should transfer it to my closet but since I have to go through the laundry room to get to my rooms and the laundry room is also where I brush my teeth and clean my face each morning it's just as easy to keep my day to day clothes in the box.

Every once in a while I sort the stuff in it. I just took out the long sleeved t-shirts, threw away the t-shirts with holes in them (I tend to lean against the metal edge of the work bench in the store, which is also the same height as my belt. My t-shirts always develop holes in that area) and got rid of old socks and underwear with not so very elastic elastic.

At the bottom I found two t-shirts that were as good as new. And I've come to the conclusion it's time for my bi-annual buying of socks, when I buy a bunch of new socks and throw out all the old ones.

I D/L the kindle app to the Cambio. Then ran out of available time for this. I might get to go back to it this afternoon. Still thinking I would rather have all of it on my Laptop instead of Cambio.

I wonder if it is possible to then save the Calibre folder from Laptop on thumb drive and be able to read it on Cambio? Thoughts are if tablet of computer crash and burn will i have to re-build it all over again. I probably should be asking this on the Calibre board and not here. The Calibre reader worked fairly well on the Cambio tablet. I could adjust font and that is the most important for me.

I kind have a thing for laundry. I like to hang it on the line, smelling the fresh clothes after bringing them in and folding them. Especially the sheets and towels even though they are stiff as a board. I even rebuilt my catico and dog house area to accommodate a better clothesline area. I even use it in winter and freeze dry the laundry. LOL The lines are under cover which also gives me extras minutes to grab clothes off the lines if a sudden rain storm comes up. Mountain weather can change in the blink of an eye.

I ended up putting all my clothes in the closet even folded things in drawers. So much nicer to just stand in there and get totally dressed. Verses going from bathroom to dresser to closet then probably back to dresser because I changed my mind on one T-shirt or another. LOL Now I can have my own little fashion show in the closet and be done with it. LOL WE have a smallish walk in closet so there is room.
