There's a middle ground between Basic (Free) and Premium -- Plus still allows unlimited devices and costs half the price of Premium ($35 per year).

Whilst it's when I'm on my pc that I save stuff to evernote, it's when I'm out and about that I use it from my phone. For example when I was buying white goods, I had a whole pile of different notebooks with notes + pics etc that I could refer to when I actually went to the various stores to get a proper look and buy. But I use evernote for a lot more than shopping, that's just a very minor aspect. ![]() |

Another app I use is 'Save as PDF' by pdfcrowd.com and it saves the whole page or doc into a pdf.
From memory I got onto this through the Firefox Add-ons-Manager (and that's where you'll locate it). It's worked well for me, and may help others with respect to lessening download limitations with the free version of evernote. ![]() |

Personally I am not going to pay 35$ a year to sync a little bit of text, and will likely migrate to Apple Notes (Which is free and does the same for me), unless I find something else that I like more.
I understand that they are a business, but I find the prices way over the top for what you actually get. Especially considering how awful Evernote actually is as a text editor. |

I use the premium myself and have it on most of the devices that I regularly use (mac, iphone, ipads). It's not perfect but it's the best that I found. The encryption option makes it viable for things that are a little more sensitive. I use to use Yojimbo, but they are basically Mac only (a read only version on the iPad). Since I like to make little notes to myself from my iPhone and iPad, it's not a viable solution. I use OneNote at work. I like the older version well enough, but don't use the new version that requires you use it on the cloud. The company that I work at blocks access and has a policy against storing company data on non-company servers. |

For me in Aus the price is $9.99 per month for the premium. Office 365 is $89 per year. I have been using the free version for the last few months, and was about to take the plunge of going down the moleskine/evernote path (looked at the livescribe/evernote but that was expensive for what it was going to deliver for me). The new price is just too much for what is little compared to office. I know they are two different products, but the shortcoming differences between evernote and office is overcome by the additional functionality of office and the lower cost IMHO.

I got to say. The One Note Android app has really changed over the past months. It's pretty nice. I think the UI could use some optimization for screens but it's come a long way. I turned the badge off though. I found it annoying.

I've never been able to get a handle on Evernote. I've tried to use it, but for me it's hard to log in to, hard to find things in, and terrible to organize.
Maybe I've been using it wrong. I guess it doesn't matter now! ![]() (I used to use Springpad instead of Evernote, but that went away, and I've finally settled to using both OneNote and Google Keep. I can't figure out how to save pictures to Google Keep, or I might use only that one.) |

This. I'm about as far away from a Microsoft fangirl as you can get, but Onenote is pretty darn good and much more powerful under the hood than it looks at first glance. After being a pretty faithful Evernote user for years--since back when it had that really neat ribbon view--I switched to Onenote 3-4 years ago, and I haven't missed Evernote at all. Actually my new phone came with a 6 month Evernote subscription and I haven't even bothered opening it.
Of course, like most of their best apps, MS bought it, but for once they've since managed to actually only improve it, not break it ![]() |

OneNote now has local storage, cloud storage, and sync. Meaning, your notes come down and are available off line. And you can just use a web browser to see them as well

That's why my Linux clients (NixNote and Everpad) don't count as "devices." I had totally forgotten that I had Evernote on my Sony PRS-T2 until you mentioned it on your Kobo. Senility is so much fun. |
