Alexis Carew (3 Book Series) by J.A. Sutherland

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...ies_rw_dp_labf

each 99P

Book 1: At fifteen, Alexis Carew has to face an age old problem - she's a girl, and only a boy can inherit the family's vast holdings. Her options are few. She must marry and watch a stranger run the lands, or become a penniless tenant and see the lands she so dearly loves sold off. Yet there may be another option, one that involves becoming a midshipman on a shorthanded spaceship with no other women.

X-link to the DRM-free thread for a new StoryBundle:

The Adventure Sci-Fi Bundle is curated by Kevin J. Anderson and contains titles by established authors, mostly newer stuff from his WordFire Press imprint, but also a couple of Baen backlist. Tiers are $8 for 7 books or $16 for 15 books. Contributors include Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Alan Dean Foster, Jody Lynn Nye and more, and the two anthologies are for hard SF and inspired by the music of Rush, respectively. And there's a volume of previously uncollected Dune short stories written by Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson, if you're interested.

Also, Bundle of Holding is offering more RPG stuff if you happen to game.

The Harrowing of Gwynedd (The Heirs of Saint Camber Book 1) by Katherine Kurtz
Amazon US | Google | B&N | Kobo
Quote:
In an alternate Middle Ages, a new chapter begins in the magnificent fantasy saga of the Deryni, as the magical race faces annihilation by royal enemies and a radical church

These are the darkest days for the Deryni of Gwynedd, the magical race that once ruled this medieval kingdom but now find themselves despised and hunted by the governing regents following the death of King Cinhil. Dead also is Camber of Culdi, who served as the Deryni’s most faithful friend in the royal court. With young King Alroy too immature and weak to rule effectively, no one holds the power to halt the reign of genocidal terror that sweeps across the land—not even Prince Javan Haldane, Alroy’s twin, who recognizes the perfidy of the regents and religious zealots hovering around his royal brother. But there is an equally distressing concern for the surviving children of Camber, whose body remains uncorrupted weeks after his death, suggesting that his soul may be trapped somewhere between earth and heaven—and nothing short of the ultimate sacrifice can set Camber free.

That's because the books have a different UK publisher.

In this case the publisher is the same. I'm sure they run different promos for non-US markets though.

Yup, Open Road Media Sci-Fi & Fantasy, so I don't know why the US gets the deal but the UK doesn't. I don't think I've seen any Open Road deal available in the UK.

Several of these books have older, shorter editions, at least one being available for free from Baen. It seems, from the cover pictures that it is always the most recent (longest) edition that is included in the bundle. One of the books (the anthology inspired by the music of Rush) is not normally available DRM-free.
Gannon's book, Fire with Fire is a Nebula nominee.
I was very critical of a previous StoryBundle, but this one seems to be a good deal (from a detailed analysis of price, size, ratings, and first of series, in addition to various comments and information that have been made on books and authors).

Good question. But the moderator considers it off topic, though I do not see what would be a better place to discuss it (he did not say). Note that, similarly, the same publisher may sell a book in Europe twice the USA price. That is usually why resellers want to know your address. Why they do that is beyond me, and apparently none will tell, but I strongly doubt it will help support the belief that copyright is a fair concept, at least as currently implemented in law. Is there a mobileread thread discussing this issue?

Where do you get such coupons? ... I have heard of them ... but I never saw one.

Well, I receive one a while ago, but only because I had been sold an ebook that would not display correctly on my Kobo ereader.

Try the Kobo thread. 50% off coupons aren't posted often, but sometimes you get lucky. There's usually some smaller discount coupons that are active you can use, which is better than nothing.
