It is thought that Oasis has Bluetooth capability but it is not yet enabled.

As for energy consumption when using VoiceView, it will be greater of course, but with Bluetooth you can have a charger (via external battery or wall-plug) connected if that is of concern. Since VoiceView means there is more or less constant audio output, I would not expect wired-vs-Bluetooth to be much different in terms of energy consumption.

People that require a screen reader like VoiceView are probably not going to care that it lacks a front-light. And they will save $40.

I preordered one because of the vision issues. I might change my mind. I still use a Kindle Keyboard and can read that screen darn well since there is no light.

Boy do I agree with this. I wanted to see what I would get if I traded in my Paperwhite 1 and I had a terrible time figuring out which one it was (it turned out to be a Kindle 5).

I'm tempted to order one of all-new Kindles, but I think I'll wait a month or so to see if they release a new Paperwhite or Voyage.
