I don't read much romance, but I somehow ended up reading this one as a KU, and I liked it a lot too. (Also thought the title was catchy...probably why I ended up reading it...) Glad to see it as a Countdown deal, and will grab it at that price.

It looks like I got a $19.49 credit from Kobo, which is odd because I had requested a check from them this time around.

I should be getting a check(s) for ARe, Penguin, and Sony, as well as the separarte claim I filed after the first round of settlements for books I purchased at Borders which were "powered by Kobo" (I was credited for some the first time around but not others. I had the firm send me a list of titles and the administrator said I was eligible to file a claim with the Apple settlement for any that weren't included the first time around).

The Kobo amount is strange because it doesn't add up. So either I'll get a partial check or they left off a bunch of books. I am confused.

ETA: did chat with Kobo and confirmed it was ebook settlement money (heaven forbid they should sent an email ). But they only credited me for 9 books instead of the 22 books they credited me for the first time, so I need to call the Attorney General and Class Apple E-book Settlement people tomorrow. Still also wondering why they did not send a check for the Kobo books like I asked.

I'm happy with anything they give me. I just was not expecting anything really. The first time I got like $36 from Amazon and $17 from BN. The second time nothing and now way more than I was expecting. If you remember the first time the credit from Amazon was only good for books. This time it's good for anything. This is a plus.

LA I hope you get all your money from Kobo. I'm sure if I go back according to your figures and dates I should have gotten more too from them.

I had to check Calibre, I acquired 428 ebooks during the time period of the lawsuit and not one email about any credit from anyone. Some were freebies, I'm sure, but I know some were purchased.

I just have no idea where they mostly came from, my guess would be Fictionwise and AllRomace.

The first round of settlements were for 73¢ for ebooks and $3.17 if the books were NYT bestsellers.

This time around it is $1.57 and $6.93, so slightly more than double.

A nice woman from Rusk Consulting actually sent me a list of the books Sony filed for me. She also helped to file a claim for all of my Borders books. I was told the first time that the Borders purchases would be automatically covered by Kobo, but that turned out not to be the case.

It's not really a matter of them shorting me. It's that I can't figure out the logic of which 8 books they picked and which ones they left off. Stuff like that drives me bonkers. And it's not as if Kobo was in charge of it, otherwise I'd chalk it up to Kobo being Kobo.

Did you see my note in the other thread? I'm curious if you received settlement money back in 2014. If you did then it will be automatic this time around. But if you didn't get any money in the first round of settlements, you won't get any this time either unless you filed a claim.
