I just started the last day of my vacation. It's supposed to be the best day weather wise. Dry and later today lots of sun, but not too warm. Yesterday was the worst day, it rained for an hour in the morning and then again for a while in the late afternoon. Otherwise the weather was a lot sunnier and drier than predicted.

During the night I was woken up by a rustling sound. I think it was boar nosing around the dead leaves behind my cottage, or maybe a deer. Right now I'm watching a squirel inspecting various trees, probably for bird food.

I got woken up by my youngest trying to hack a hairball on my bed again. I got her to the floor before it came up.

I'm researching hairball remedy as I'm stumped where all the hair is coming from. Sweet pea is a Tuxedo cat very short fur and silky. Hairball care treats are not working.

Brush every day ... several times a day ... I use a Furminator ... but they still keep on coming up ...

I do but no fur comes off. Her coat is short and silky. Now Maisy loves to be brush and has lots of hair on her brush afterward but Sweetpea hates to be brushed and has nothing on her brush.

Taking a break from packing and cleaning. I only need to pack the cold food, take away the trash and do the dishes.

I will miss my little cottage, but I'm happy to sleep in my own bed tonight.

Maybe Sweetpea is grooming Maisy? Our two often spend time licking each other's fur.

Not very likely they tolerate one another but get them close to each other and it's a slap fest. They are like real life siblings. "Don't get in my space" on the bed they have to lay at least 2 feet apart oh and they can't be looking at each other. My girls are something else. They are constantly trying to usurp each other. On very rare occasions I'll find them being nice to each other.

There are some quite effective hairball pastes, you can get them from a vet clinic (at least in Europe, but probably in the US too). The paste must be given on an empty stomach, several times a week. The ones I've tried here work quite well.
