Yes, koreader can read big pdf files. And has many useful options for reading them.

Guys, could you tell me please with the following questions:
1. Does KORedear support footnotes? I click on a reference ([1]) in epub-document expecting to get some redirect but nothing happens... Or maybe is there a way to see reference info at the bottom? 2. Is there a way to edit the step of adjusting highlight by swiping two fingers? It takes too long to set highlight from 1 to 100 value ![]() 3. Is there a way to change adjusting highlight from swiping two fingers to one finger (as it made in nickel) ? 4. How to get notes? 5. Does KOReader supprot txt-files? I'm trying to open txt (3 bytes) but got the error: Quote:
6. Does Wikipedia search work? I select some word, tap on Wikipedia but hothing happens then... Thank you! Last edited by The_Immortal; 06-18-2016 at 09:39 PM. |

I'm kinda lost with some setting in uimanager.lua:
Code:
local sec = G_reader_settings:readSetting("auto_suspend_timeout_seconds") if sec then self.auto_suspend_sec = sec else -- default setting is 60 minutes self.auto_suspend_sec = 60 * 60 If I choose: self.auto_suspend_sec = 20 * 20 I end with a suspend time of 6 minutes... ![]() How the algorithm works? In seconds or minutes? This time I use 30 * 30 and the Koreader suspended in 15 minutes... Strange... |

2. I think you mean "Frontlight" not highlight. The gesture to adjust the frontlight should only be available on the 6" Aura (although it is also reported working on the Glo HD) 3. See 2. 4. A true Notetaking feature has been often requested at the project on Github. So far there is only highlights and saving them to the Evernote plugin. 5. Yes .txt files are supported. I don't think there would be a valid 3 byte file. 6. The Wikipedia search requires the WiFi to be on, and WiFi access. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 06-19-2016 at 06:24 PM. |

@WolfBack: As the name of the variable implies, seconds
![]() TL;DR: You want 20 * 60 ![]() |

Someone has made the mod but I don't know how to test it on my Glo HD as it made for H2O... As you know the gesture to change the intensity of the Frontlight in Nickel is swiping up or down by one finger on the left side of the screen. In KoReader we have to use two fingers. So the question is how to set one finger (for Frontlight adjusting) in KoReader? Quote:

Yes, you need to use the proper wiki server. There was an issue over at Github that was resolved by making some accommodation so that the server was automatically selected, based on the system language set or maybe it was the language of the book. Perhaps that is not working as you would like and you need "to edit wiki_server manually in wikipedia.lua", as you say.
The frontlight mod might very well work on other Kobo devices, as well. Luck; Ken P.S.; be sure and use an editor like Notepad++ that can do Linux type line endings. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 06-20-2016 at 10:11 AM. |

I'm wondering is there a way to setup one default font for all books? There must be an option for it.
And secondly - sometimes KOReader cannot override font in EPUB. SO there must be also optin that will allow to turn off internal font (like it madein CoolReader). Last edited by The_Immortal; 06-23-2016 at 02:36 PM. |

When I read a book, usually I keep the progress bar and the time at the bottom of the page. Occasionally I change the info at the right of the bar with the pages left on chapter and battery level.
Every time when the Koreader restarted (or close and open the same book) the bottom line are blank and needs several taps to show the progress bar and time... Is there any trick or any code editing to keep the progress bar and time shown as default on every time the book is opening? Thanks! |

Is something wrong with the statistics plugin of the latest nighty builds?
I read and complete some books, but the Statistics / All Books always shows the stats of the currently opened book. After some days of searching I came up with this: On latest nighties the selected option and stats of every book is stored in the current book folder as: xxxxxxx.epub.lua and thats all... If I want to check the stats on a specific book it must to be opened and then select Statistics / All Books. On the stable Koreader version the stats info stored in the statistics folder as: xxxxxxx.stat file and always shows the stats info of all books at statistics / Total. My first thought is to use the statistics plugin of the stable version to the latest nighty. But, in that case I loose all my tracks and stats of my reading books. Except if I'll be able to convert the epub.lua file to .stat. (I don't know how to do that, of course...) ![]() There's anybody have a solution for that matter? Thnks! (I also opened a issue with no. #2170: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/2170 ) Last edited by WolfBack; 07-19-2016 at 01:26 PM. |

Just opened bug report on github: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/2172
It looks like a bug. Hopefully, it will be solved soon. EDIT: noticed that for some books status bar is on from the start. And for others it isn't. Strange. Last edited by Alan_S; 07-19-2016 at 05:54 PM. |
