Where's my thread?

As part of some general housekeeping, a few threads have been unstuck. If you can't find your favorite thread among the stickies, it will be in the main body of the forum. I'd also like to direct members' attention to a policy change; please read HarryT's thread regarding affiliate tags. |

I'd also suggest that members bookmark their favorite threads and posts. I do and it makes it so much easier to find things.

I respectfully disagree. I like having more, rather than less, stickies. I especially am sad to see the Free/Bargain Media Deals thread not be a sticky. And although I CAN kind of see dropping the Kobo thread, since Kobo is no longer doing its coupon contests, so the amount of activity on it has dropped, I also disagree on this one, and would prefer it stay a sticky as well. I don't really see the harm in having a few more stickies, unless it makes extra work for the moderators in some way that I don't understand. And I have so many bookmarks already for work and other things that I really don't want to have to add more... I doubt this will change anything, but I am sad to see these stickies get unstuck. |

We knew there'd be some unhappiness and we're sorry, but this is part of a long-term cleanup from a high of 18 stickies! The essential problem is that having too many stickies is akin to having no stickies at all. The bottom line is that if members are posting in a thread, it's going to remain quite high on the list in any case. |

I don't mind the slight scroll I have to do.

I'm just confused. When was it, a year or two ago that tons of stickies were added in the deals section, causing people to complain that nonstickies were crowded out. Now threads are being unstuck again, because ... ? Frankly, I don't care too much one way or the other, but I wish the powers-that-be would make up their minds. Since there's a bustle of housekeeping, however, I would like to see the audiobook deals moved to the dedicated audiobook forum. |

If you do not clean and prune stickies they are all you will see without scrolling. Apache |

I just looked and agree with the ones they kept. On the links, I am guessing I can still post links to stuff at Amazon and your affiliate tag will be put on it. |

There is no need to bookmark threads if you subscribe to a thread any time there is a new post that thread will show in your control panel (User CP). If you post in a thread then you are auto subscribed but you can subscribe to any thread using the thread tools at the top of each thread. This way you won't miss any postings because they are no longer stickied. Last edited by Blossom; 06-18-2016 at 05:36 PM. |

non-book media is an extremely popular thread (of course, it also stays near the top, anyway, so unsticking it won't have any real effect .. other than the fact that THIS thread is now taking up the slot it did, so there is one less useful thread on page one of this forum).

Same for Kindle deals - I read the forums some, but all the deals get bounced to here, when a mod notices that they were posted there.
