A Japanese company is releasing a two sided 13.3 e-Reader specifically for sheet music, but is there any reason why it wouldn't take e-books and PDFs as well? Don't know anything about digital sheet music.
You can find more on www.gvido.tokyo

It should say special in title, but it was autocorrected and now I can't change it.

Twitter is to communications as haiku is to literature.

There may be others as well. I recall seeing similar devices in music magazines going back several years.

But as for whether it would be suitable for general ebooks and documents, I guess that would depend on how they implemented the software, and if the form factor was suitable for you.

It seems most of these things are preorder/prototype right now, so it might be worth contacting them and telling them you WANT it to function as a general ereader, in case for some reason they are considering making it only work with some special music format.

That site was someone's school project, and not a real device.

This is a quote from the linked site: Weighing in at 650 grams, the Gvido measures 48 cm by 31 cm when unfolded. It has a Wacom touchscreen, Wifi, Bluetooth, and supports PDFs. You can use the Wacom stylus to annotate the PDF, and even save the notes and bookmarks for future use.

So apparently PDF is supported.
However, it's not to market yet, and no dates given.

Really? Interesting. It was jus the first link when i searched for eink music stands.

There are others (including concept design from E-Ink, which it looks like you wrote about once....) but no shipping products that I can find.

I'm certain (well, fairly certain) I saw ads for something similar in "Making Music" magazine while back. I'll have to see if I still it around.

Thank you. I noticed she wasn't playing what was on the screens. If it supports PDFs it should be possible to get epub titles in there as well. Does anyone know what file format is used for digital sheet music?

Twitter is to communications as haiku is to literature.

There is no standard for digital sheet music, so far as I know. It's just PDF.

If you're trying to incorporate rich special features, there are several:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_sheet_music

But I'd imagine annotatable PDF would be the most common, especially if you are just trying to replace paper and make page turning easier, which, I'd think, is what most musicians would be wanting.
