Battery Indicator

Does the battery text in percent show the same problem as the graphics? I always use the percent display instead of the graphic as I can understand how much battery can be used instead of the graphic which doesn't have nearly the same accuracy.

There is no option to see percentage for kindle voyage and paper white. I'm not sure about other kindles

No you don't. The Voyage (or any other eink Kindle, for that matter) doesn't offer that option.

There's a thingy in the devs' corner for that (well for the PW anyway) but it doesn't work on recent FW. Doesn't look like anyone will be fixing it either which is a bit of a shame, I do prefer having a % displayed.

Yes same here. I wonder they are not available on eink Kindles.

What FW version are you running? I'm also experiencing the batterry indicator issue (and other battery lifespan problems) on my KT2 only since the 5.7.2.1/5.7.3 upgrade(s).

hi there! I have recharged my Voyage three times so far and in all cases the white area on the right has been almost twice as large as the one on the left of the battery indicator.

But I have a question to ask. The recharging time via my PC USB is something like two hours and 20 minutes which I think is far faster than the "less than four hours" thing said in the manual. I plugged it in when the battery low warning had reappeared for like 10 times. It was almost the same when I used my cellphone charger ( 5v , 5500 ma). Do you think it's normal? I'm a bit of an OCD too, :-)

This is entirely normal on the Voyage. Nothing to be concerned about.

Actually, there is but it's not very user friendly. To see the battery percentage, go to the home screen and do a search for ;dm

Your Kindle will generate four user files. Go to file all_system_logs and do a search for the keyword capacity or capav
If you get more than one reading, look for the lowest percentage.
You may need to wait a few minutes in order for the new four files to properly indexing themselves before you can do a search.
The trick works for Kindle PaperWhite 1. Not sure about the Voyage.

An Oasis in its cover will show percentages for both the Oasis and the cover. Out of the cover it doesn't show the percentage for some reason.

All Kindles are, to the best of my knowledge (as is my iPad, iPhone, etc.).
