Books 1-8 of the George & Molly Palmer-Jones murder mystery series is on sale at Amazon.co.uk for £.099 and the whispersync is £.3.49. They are a daily deal so if you are intrested get on this one quick.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=s9_hp...d_i=5400977031

I read the first one and if you are into stuff like Midsommers Murders you may like this. For this price I grabbed all the e-books and the second and third audiobook. I will buy more if I enjoy these two.

Thank You to the Mystery Thread for alerting me to this.

The one that I tried, at least, is a zip file. Works fine on my Win 10 laptop, if you just want to download and open the PDF.

Thanks for posting these.

Unless I've missed something, these are giveaways for a person who does the 30-day trial thingie? Even if they are, that's still pretty good if you can also get the free credit for doing the free trial.

I've always found it unfortunate the author didn't emphasize Peace's origins from the mean streets of Newark, NJ rather than (erroneously) assuming his book's mere mention of Newark would evoke facts such as these (source: Wikipedia: Newark, NJ: Crime):
  • In 1996, TIME magazine ranked Newark "The Most Dangerous City in the Nation."[276]
  • In 2010, Newark recorded 90 homicides.[7] March 2010 was the first calendar month since 1966 in which the city did not record a homicide.[8] Overall, there was a 6% increase in crime numbers over the previous year, including a rise in carjackings for the third straight year, with the 337 incidents raising concerns that the city was returning to its status as the "car theft capital of the world".[9] Along with the increase in crime, the Newark Police Department increased its recovery of illegally owned guns in 2011 to 696, up from 278 in 2010.[10]
  • In 2012, CNNMoney ranked Newark as the 6th most dangerous city in the United States based on numbers by FBI Crime in the United States 2011 report.[287]
Truth is overrated. ha

After thinking about what issybird said, I wished that I hadn't written what I did. I may have implied something where the publisher hadn't inferred it.

Tantor does have a freebie up on its site for JIAM. If you'd like to get "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, read by Tavia Gilbert, you can get it for free here. I have no idea how long this freebie will last so don't hesitate if you're interested.

Enjoy!

Audible Daily Deal -- exp 11 Jun @ 11:59pm ET

$2.95 -- Bricking It -- Nick Spalding/ N Ryan, H Wilds --> 8.5 hrs/ R-4.2 --> humor

Quote:
Whispersync: Audible ($1.99) | Kindle ($5.99)

When siblings Dan and Hayley Daley inherit their late grandmother's derelict Victorian farmhouse, it seems like a dream come true. All they have to do is fix the place up and sell it for a tidy profit!

Except - as anyone who has renovated an old house knows - things are never that easy. The walls are rapidly crumbling around them, the architect is a certified lunatic, the budget is spiraling...and then there's the disturbingly intelligent cow to worry about.

On top of all this, the renovation is being featured on a daytime reality TV show, and as soon as Great Locations presenter Gerard O'Keefe catches sight of Hayley's first-floor balcony, he's determined to woo her out of her ban on romance, whether she wants him to or not.

Will Dan and Hayley survive and sell up? Or will the whole thing collapse on them like a ton of bricks?

From bestselling author Nick Spalding comes a hilarious tale of life, love, and dodgy plumbing.

$3.99 -- When to Rob a Bank -- S Levitt, S Dubner/ multiple --> 8.2 hrs/ R-4.1 --> economics

Quote:
When to Rob a Bank: ...And 131 More Warped Suggestions and Well-Intended Rants

Whispersync: Audible ($12.99) | Kindle ($10.99)

When Freakonomics was initially published, the authors started a blog - and they've kept it up. The writing is more casual, more personal, even more outlandish than in their books. Now, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the landmark Freakonomics, comes this curated collection from the most readable economics blog in the world.

Why don't flight attendants get tipped? If you were a terrorist, how would you attack? And why does KFC always run out of fried chicken?

Over the past decade, Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner have published more than 8,000 blog posts on Freakonomics.com. Now the very best of this writing has been carefully curated into one volume, the perfect solution for the millions of listeners who love all things Freakonomics.

Discover why taller people tend to make more money; why it's so hard to predict the Kentucky Derby winner; and why it might be time for a sex tax (if not a fat tax). You'll also learn a great deal about Levitt and Dubner's own quirks and passions. Surprising and erudite, eloquent and witty, When to Rob a Bank demonstrates the brilliance that has made their books an international sensation.

Audible's Editors' Sale ends in just a little over 2 days. I just want to give you a heads up.

I had researched many of the selection, and had picked out about 6 picked out them and placed in my cart. I wanted to go through them and cull out any that I didn't really need or want. They disappeared! I had to restart my computer once since I picked them out, though. I may have not been logged in at Audible at the time and, because of that, they didn't save them. I don't know the reason for sure.

Now I'm going to have to go back and try to remember the ones that I had picked out. Bummer.

I hope that you will do what you need to to keep that from happening to you.

Good idea.

I've been taking screenshots or making PDFs of cart contents at other retailers' websites, I just hadn't thought, or thought it neccessary, to do it at Audible.
