Problem with some images in Calibre

For the past several months, certain images in Calibre look too stretched and "zoomed in". This does not affect any of the icons, only images in certain places such as the warning that pops up if you want to delete a book. I have attached some screenshots to better show what is going on. This happens even if I change the icon theme. I am using the most recent version of Calibre (2.58) on a Mac running OS El Capitan. Does anyone else have this issue?

The third image <warning> is not a Calibre Image, but a system/QT standard dialog

The third image looks like a corner of the calibre component 'dialogue_warning.png'

Are you sure it's been happening for months? I wondered if it could be an MacOSX specific side-effect of the the recent deprecation of image-magik in favour of QtImage in calibre version 2.57.1. Maybe IOS version of Qtimage has a bug in resizing images. You could try reinstalling version 2.56. I say IOS specific because it's not happening on Windows.

Do you have any override images? In main GUI program (library manager) go to Preferences->Miscellaneous and click Open configuration directory in Finder and have a look in the /resources/images sub directory.

That would be "MacOSX" rather tha "IOS", but I agree that is could very well be an issue descending from the changes made related to the omission of image-magik. The recent releases of the MacOSX have new routines for scaling screen entities related to the now wide range of pixel densities brought on by the "Retina" screens.

Yes, I'm dwig (one who doesn't type well for various reasons...) and not the former smiling blue guy (some mountain chain or something now) known as MacOSX.

I dont see that on my OS X 10.11.5 machine running calibre 2.58 -- unfortunately not being a mac guy, I have no good advice on how to hunt down the cause, but I would suspect some kind of accessibility/DPI scaling software/setting.

FWIW, I'm also running OSX 10.11.5, and did not see this issue on calibre 2.57.1. Just downloaded 2.58 this morning, and it still displays the icons as expected.
