You need to disable the old patch or delete it after you copy the new patch.

I officially give up. I deleted the new folder and re copied the origional folder containing the source and target files and renamed it. The original folder can happily run the bat prompt but the copied folder won't. My two folders are identical except for the main folder name, the contents are the same.
I guess I dare not try and do any amendments to the original patch file as I have no idea whats going on. |

I have two folders. Kobo Patches Glo HD 3.19.5761 and Kobo Patches Glo HD 3.19.5761 (15 lines version) both folders have their own Kobo Glo HD Patches folder that contains the source and the target plus the original zip files. They are on the same laptop (i.er in dropbox) but not in the same folder. And nothing has gone to my kobo yet as the Kobo Patches Glo HD 3.19.5761 (15 lines version) folder can't generate a tgz file. or are you saying I must delete one folder and only have one copy of each file/folder on my laptop? if so how does the bat file know another version exists on the drive? Edited to say the non 15 lines folder (the original) runs a bat command with the other folder on the drive, but the source bat in the 15 lines version folder won't even with nothing changed. Just a thought. You didn't create these separate folders inside any of the 3 main folders 3.19.5761_source, 3.19.5761_target, tools, did you? The Patcher may not like that.

I have deleted the folder ending in the words 15 lines version and am coping the original folder to a usb key. see if taking if off the c drive makes any difference. I'll try and re run the existing bat file before making any changes.

I missed a few of your posts. I think the Patcher will only work with the folder names provided (3.19.5761_source, 3.19.5761_target, tools). So don't do any folder renaming.
Backup your old versions by all means but store them somewhere else. Your updated libnickel.so.1.0.0.patch must be placed in folder 3.19.5761_source. The easiest way is to edit your old working 3.19.5761_source\libnickel.so.1.0.0.patch file in-situ. |

I never changed any folder names in source or target only the overall name of the folder they were all stored in. The only thing different now is the overall folder name and the fact it was on a different drive letter. |

I've just transfered the new tgz file to my kobo and its made a big difference, thank you to both Oren64 for sticking with me and Jackie_w for the changes to the patch. I'll keep the old folder on a usb key and only the new one on my c drive.
Thank you both again ![]() Last edited by Josieb1; 05-31-2016 at 04:31 PM. |

One thing I tend to do is never launch a batch file by clicking on it. Rather I open a CMD shell and run the batch file from the command prompt. This way I can more easily see any error messages.

The Linux/Mac script sidesteps this problem by using pathnames relative to the current working directory, but that means it is up to the user to switch to that directory first. |

If we want to see how other people has customized some hacks, for example for "My 15 lines" patch, I added this option in web site KHD. With that, we can see examples of diferent values that users prefers, and also how many profiles enabled or not the patch. For instance it doesn't have so much value because there are very few user profiles, but maybe after some time we get more info ;-)
Example with My 15 lines for firmware 3.19.5761: http://pip.cat/khd/details.php?id=518 Other hacks, through http://pip.cat/khd |
