Kobo Glo HD vs POCKETBOOK 626 Touch Lux 3 - help me choose

Hi I need to buy e-reader for me and my wife. After spending some time on looking at specs, watching videos etc. I found that those two would be good for us:
I know that main disadvantage for Kobo is lack of SD slot. But then again I don't think that we will get so many books to fill 3.1GB too fast. And Kobo has better resolution and probably better frontlight. But it has a little bit higher price (in my country at least). We won't use Kobo's services and Pocketbook's (if it has some) because we will buy books mostly in our native language and I don't think those services will have books in our language. So we don't care for them. From what I've seen we will use Calibre server to manage library if it matters in this discussion. So basically I'm asking for your help to point out some things that may emerge the winner for us. |

You can open Kobo and change the microsd card inside. You can expand the memory easily.

Really? I've seen some video on YT that changing it makes Kobo stop to boot. Is there some tutorial on how to do this?

Be aware that opening the device/swapping out the card will void your warranty. However, as you say, if you're reading mostly novels (not comics etc), it will take a LOT of books to fill the device. What is your language, out of interest? Can you borrow public library ebooks in your country? Do you care about things like heavily customising the display (fonts, margins, line spacing)? |

If you put your old card back, they can't really understand you did that.

I'm from Poland. There some e-books here but to be honest I didn't look for them just yet. I will when I get the device. And by the way - I already decided on Kobo Glo HD. I've looked at subforum for both devices and it looks to me like there are more interesting things for Kobo there. Thanks for your advises. |
