Kobo N647 eReader blocked
Hello to all,

After a disconnection at the wrong time, or malfunction due to a problem of electrical origin, my Kobo original wifi n647 eReader stopped working.

The device starts but stops responding after the fifth square and freezes completely.
The device is still recognized by Windows XP but the .kobo directory is empty.
The update via the kobo desktop is ineffective.

I am looking, if possible, for an image of the internal µSD card.

The specs of the device are:

FCC ID: NOIKBN647
IC: 8857A-KBN647
MODEL: N647

I think I remember the original firmware to be 1.9.13.

I started with that.
Basic Reset and Factory Reset are unfortunately ineffective...

I was able to restore the firmware by means of member KevinShort,
and everything works again marvelously.

Hello, I have same problem here. I was bought my 2nd hand ereader from ebay to Turkey. And unfortunately I've had this problem. Could anyone help me?

That ebook reader was more-than-likely stolen by someone and the original owner called Amazon and had it blocked.

Strictly, I'm not. But anyone who is likely to be able to help will see the request in this forum and respond. Plus, if you read the guidelines for posting on the thread, it explicitly states not to make duplicate posts.

I'd recommend flashing a new image to your internal SD card. Here's the link : https://copy.com/aaxzFpEHwg86

Make sure to extract it with a program such as 7-zip. You can use a program such as Win32 Disk Imager to write it to your SD card. Hope it helps!
