Kindle won't sync and I'm stumped - Page 2

Cindy Not since I got the PW3 or the Fire 10. I can only DL thru my PC I device at a time. With the K3 Any e-book I purchased was in the Archives. No problem turning on the K3 wifi/3G to DL a book. Not so with the Fire or PW3 No shows until I Send them thru my PC.

When I took out my K3, it automatically defaulted to another kindle.

Mine is set to KfPC but even then 1/2 the time they are No shows. I don't get a dang thing No covers on the Fire 10... Nothing on the PW3 [hate the pw

right now I KNOW I sent 5 e-books purchased from Amazon to the PW But NONE are showing. When connected to PC I can See them on the PW. Yet I cant get them so I can See & Read them on the PW]
Fire phone I get Covers then DL & I don't even have to send them to the phone.

How many books do you have?
Yes, I am asking for a reason.
The cloud on my K5 is only showing 5282 books.
Let me tap on one and see what happens. Note I am in Cloud.
Ok clicked on a book. It downloaded and now my two most recent purchases show up in the cloud.

Looking at the K4, only 4,125 items are showing as archived.
This leads me to wonder if it isn't the cloud/all/archive can only show so many.
I know I have at least 10,000 ebooks from Amazon.

1,700+ Lots of Room! I don't use the Cloud... useless set up too! No I don't send Anything to the Cloud. I send Directly to the Devices I reading on.

When I traded my K3 for PW3 Amazon defaulted to KfPC. Until then I Never picked a certain device.

Oh, you are doing to K4PC as default. That may be part of it.
Can you click on the drop-down arrow before buying a book? Maybe if you sent one directly to the fire or PW, it would wake up the cloud.

All of your Amazon purchased books are in their cloud.
Note: it is called ALL on your PW3.
I used cloud because that is what it is called on the K5.
It is the Archives on the K3 and K4.
It is ALL rather than downloaded on the PW3.
It is also called Cloud on the older fires.

Have you tried swapping between All and downloaded on your PW3?

I turned on ALL I Re-booted several times. Not any of the 5 ebooks are showing so I can read them. They ARE on the device when I check the PW on the PC I even tried typing the Author &/or the Title of the books Nope Nada.

On the Fire I been thru the same process BUT Even tho I have them on the SDCard ... NOT suppose to DL there I cant open them to read nor do they Show as books or Documents

$20 spent what a waste

YES I Have contacted CS they have No clue & refuse to Replace them. This has been going on for 10 Days!

& Forget Side Loading the books thru Calibre another Joke! Fire 10 it connects then just keeps spinning .. 5 hours I waited with the Fire 10 & Calibre to finish whatever it does so you can side load... I finally unplugged it! PW3 & caliber connects Tells me what I am trying to Side Load is there... BUT since I cant read them from Amazon I Side Load them any way Now I have 5 copies of Each of the 5 Books in the PW cant read ONE! [have I said how much I Hate the PW...]

You and Amazon are just not getting along at all. I am out of ideas now.
One last idea. Have you turned off the wifi, then turned it back on and tried syncing?

The only thing I Don't have problems with is the Fire Phone But its too small to hold & read on when I in bed. Which is why I got the Fire 10. CS couldn't even tell me How to get the e-books Off the SdCard & on the Main HD. Neither did the 2 techs I talked to.

I was thinking you physically turn off the wifi and back on, not with a reboot.
But at least we have now run through all the possibilities.

Forgive me for coming in, in the middle .... and maybe you've already tried this .... but having more than one copy of the same book is A Bad Thing. That can really confuse a kindle into ignoring the book completely. Have you tried deleting all 5 of those copies? From your PC (or mac) .... not from Calibre, but from the actual file system of your computer. Or Calibre would work too, if it will DO it.

I had a Calibre version of a book with title [Series Number Title] and since it was already listed in a Cloud Collection by the original title ... the book just disappeared and wouldn't let me access it at all. I *watched* the book show up and then disappear. I had to delete it and stop changing the title, since I was using amazon cloud collections at the same time.

So, what happens it you delete all those multiple copies, and then load the book just once? Sideload, since that's the technique that usually does work for you?

Really? At one point I had fourteen copies of the same book on my PW1, and it was totally unconfused (though since they all had the same title, but different filenames, *I* was rather confused).

This was straight out of kindlegen though. Maybe once the books have an ASIN the rules change?
