Let's hope this tech does come to market and gives eink holdings a damp good boot up the backside to get on improving their tech because at the moment they have an unhealthy monopoly and carta needs an update...

Carta only needs on update if there is market for a brand new kind of device that requires a flexible substrate. As long as there is enough people buying the breakable substrate it won't disappear anytime soon. If everything was the same, and the only difference is the substrate, that wouldn't convince me to upgrade. The screen had to look a lot better than my current screen in my Voyage to even consider it.

I wasn't so much talking about the quality of the screen,as you pointed out the voyage is pretty darn perfect,but I desperately want to see improvements to motion.

The current eink screens can only provide a very poor android experience,goodereader reported they had seen behind the scenes full motion playback on a next gen eink screen,without any competition there going to delay and maximise on their current tech before introducing anything new,that's what happens when there's 0 competition.

A faster transition would be nice. I have the Paperwhite 3 and think the screen is great but it could be improved with quicker refreshes. This wouldn't be enough for me to upgrade tho.

I would like to see the PW3 with less bezels, thinner, lighter with page turn buttons.

It hasn't gone un-noticed that i've just described the Oasis, but I'm not paying the price they're asking for it.

Then I guess you don't really want it? I'm assuming that you *could* afford it if you wanted to, but you've decided that those features aren't really worth paying for?

I plan on getting the Onyx Boox Kepler Pro next month.
It has the smallest bezel I have seen on an electronic ink reader to date, with page turn buttons on the sides.
We will see how fast the page turns are running the Kindle app.
