Hi,
i have got a couple of ereaders, and one thing i have been wanting to do for a few years now , it to be able to use them as a secondary computer monitor unfortunately, i have never had great results i have been looking at the onyx boox max, as a solution, and also at the 2nd generation of dasung monitors has anyone here have any experience using the onyx max as a second monitor, maybe with a video ? or with the dasung 2nd gen ? or anyone had any luck with another ereader ? thanks !!! (i posted the same message in another 13.3 post) |

If the hardware support is there and the code already exists, the devs could easily create a setting to toggle it. Creating an UI for that involves extra-work, but I for one could do just fine with a "low-level switch" (editing a configuration file or somesuch), and i bet others feel the same. Given the battery drain you mentioned, this would make it obvious it's an "at your own risk" move. P.S.: has Onyx considered an open source development model? I'd have already changed / improved some things had I had access to the code. With such a device that's appealing to developers, one never knows... |

Hi, Drew22,
thanks a lot for really detailed and helpful review of your Max! Great job! ![]() Concerning annotations and scribbles in a PDF document. The original document remains unchanged. You can create a new PDF document and export all your drawings , handwritten annotations , highlighting etc in a new PDF and transfer it to PC or share this changed PDF with others. Additionally you can export all your text annotations including highlighted citations in a TXT file and use it separately. |

Any other source for the adb package for the Onyx Boox Max firmware update? The ereader-Store link doesn't work anymore.
Why isn't it possible to upgrade on the fly or without losing the complete root system? |

Could somebody please attach the adb.zip from the E-Reader Store? The original link doesn't work anymore and I don't know if I can use any adb.zip implementation to update the device.

Some news concerning updates on Onyx PDF reading software.
Onyx is working on K-Reader now, which will be successor of Neo reader. It should be introduced soon. K-Reader uses a different engine which is much more faster and should support opening and working with multiple documents. Currently Neo Reader works ok, but for some documents it is quite slow and does not support multi documents, which could be important for academical reading.. Hi Booxtor,
I've asked here before and I've emailed Onyx also but got no reply. Do we have any news about the second batch of Max? Just for us who preordered to have an idea. TIA |

As far as Imx7 dual processors are concerned, perhaps the following page speaks about their status of production: http://www.nxp.com/products/microcon...IES?cof=0&am=0 Price (around $20-$25 per piece, if around 500-600 pieces are purchased) http://www.findchips.com/search/3dvk Last edited by xtech; 05-24-2016 at 08:46 AM. |

After enabling usb debugging on the device, I've tried to install adb drivers for the device but I wasn't able to. I have also modified the .inf file of google usb driver adding the Hardware_ID of Boox Max but the adb tool always says: "List of devices attached: " and then nothing! I tried to install drivers in windows safeboot mode, I changed USB cable, USB port but nothing changed! I use Windows 10 64 bit and I only have USB 3.0 ports. Could you help me, please? Thank you |

The update increased the general speed and the viewer programs seem to be more stable.

I just installed the update too on M96, It's faster and I can see that they added more features, like page refresh settings, and other stuff like dictionary and such on the top bar of the reader. Nice
