Not at all. As you slide the Oasis into the case the magnets just sort of grab it and pull it into place. And there's no "prying" involved in getting it out, unlike some of the older cases.

Its very easy to take it out of the cover. Is so automatic to me now that I don't even think about it anymore. I grab it, open, push on the corner a bit with my thumb and start reading. When I take a break from reading, I set it on the cover. Its all I have to do as the magnets "suck" it right on where it goes.

Since there is only a part of the device stuck in the cover with the Oasis, you can just full grap the device and go. Hold it right where you going to hold it reading so you don't even have to adjust if you don't want to. I hated the PW cover, I could not get the thing out without having to twist, which doesn't sound like a good thing to do to a kindle. The Voyage cover was a big improvement of that. But I like reading my devices with no cover now for the light weight. I used to read my K1 with a heavy leather Oberon cover, go figure.

For me the whole point of the Oasis is the shape, light weight and buttons. Reading it in the cover would defeat all those things for me. I think the K3 was the last kindle I consistently read in a cover. I had a great light cover with a back strap for that one. With those perfect buttons on the edge, it was a dream. The PW I never liked the cover or the PW really. I couldn't get it out of the cover so I had to read it in it. . Had to get a basic then though as I hated the screen and lack of buttons on it. I had the PW1. The basic was so nice and light, still is of course. Voyage I did get a Origami and a 3rd party cover at first. But my wrists were getting worse so read out the cover, put in cover for storage. I always intended to read the Oasis out of the cover. |

There are always skins you can put on. Some of them look really nice since if its in cover, part of it sticks out |

http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,235800.0.html Some blend nicely with the cover. I don't have a skin yet, but I am tempted by the burlwood one for my Walnut cover.

I put skins on all my Kindles to hide the overly large branding, so the Oasis would be the only one where I wouldn't need a skin for the device (but I'd need one for the cover) |

I got a DecalGirl skin for my Oasis. The "Flower Blooms" pattern looks very pretty with the Merlot cover. I read with the Oasis mostly out of the cover. I find that having the skin on the back makes it more comfortable for me to hold. It doesn't feel as slippery so I worry less about dropping it while holding. It makes the ergonomics better for me. This morning I sat on my patio with my Oasis in one-hand and sipped from my coffee cup in the other hand. |

There's a whole bunch of enablers here. I ended up ordering Treasure Hunt. I have the same one on my H2O (actually on the front of a cover for the H2O, thanks to someone here giving me the idea) and I think the colors look ok with the merlot. It's not the sort of subject that usually appeals to me but for some reason I've always liked it. With any luck the pattern will be placed in such a way that I won't end up with half a girl showing. Yolina, I'm not in favor of giant branding either but I'm grateful that at least it isn't in gold letters. It really isn't very obtrusive on the merlot cover. |
