How do I take the notes I make on a book and move them to my computer. I use Calibre Companion for my Kindle Fire. I read everything on MoonReader Pro. Need any more info let me know.

Thanks a bunch.

CC doesn't support uploading any information to calibre other than "read" and "date read". It also doesn't support uploading annotations stored by book reading apps.

Some people have solved this problem using Evernote, which can sync notes between devices and computers. It is a bit complicated to set up, but it works well once it is. The general idea is:
  • install Evernote on your computer running calibre.
  • in Evernote, create an evernote "note" for the book.
  • in Evernote, copy the "link" for the note you just created (see below).
  • in calibre, add the link (see below)
  • install Evernote on your Fire.
There is a lot more information in this thread in the calibre forum.

Regarding "adding the link in calibre": there are two choices. Which one you use depends on you. The first choice is to paste the link into a "comments" field, either the standard one or a custom column. The second choice is to use the new calibre custom identifiers facility to create an "evernote" identifier type. The custom column is the easiest to start with. Once you have added the note and copied the link, connect CC as a wireless device so that the link (now part of book metadata) is transferred to CC.

When you copy an Evernote link (in Evernote, right-click on a note and choose "Copy note link"), by default it gives you a link to the web interface. If you want a link to the local app (the above discussion assumes you do) then hold the CTRL key down when you copy the link.

dropbox may be easier

moon reader already has a feature called dropbox sync which writes all your annotations to a file called name-of-book -author-of-book.an in a dropbox subfolder.
e,g,
pc path\Dropbox\Apps\Books\.Moon+\Cache

you just have to give moon reader permission to use your dropbox account and enable the dropbox sync feature in misc options.
Then work out how to extract notes from those .an files if you want to work with them on PC, rather than just store them.

( I am not sure if you also need to install the dropbox app on your fire tablet but to do that you get it directly from dropbox.com via silk browser ( it is not in the amazon app store) , then allow install from unknown sources in fire security preferences

I was able to email the file to myself. I did not realize I could do that. Thanks for the help.
