Sigil 0.9.5 code view fonts list
Hello everyone.
I've updated sigil to the last version from my old 0.7.2 on a whim. But I ended up with a problem in the code view. It changed the preferred font for the code view. ![]() I simply thought the program went back to the original setup but when I went on the preferences to change the font I found out that in the list for the code view fonts most of the ones I have are missing, while in the book view list it seems they are all present. It wouldn't really be a problem if I could chose between normal fonts but all the remaining ones are pretty much hurtful to the eyes ![]() someone can help me? ![]() In the worst case I thought of use a restore point but it's a pain ![]() |

AFAIK Sigil uses System fonts for code and books (if not embedded) Maybe your system is broken in a way that Sigil can't find where the System fonts are kept |

I personally use the mono-spaced font Source Code (the demi variant) for the code view. I find it good to read and easy on the eyes.
In code view you can only use mono-spaced fonts. |

no. I've not removed them, more like I don't really use them.
Checked just now since the list was short. in code view are listed only mono-spaced fonts such as courier and consolas. is it like this for everyone? because from what I remember in the old version I was able to select others. if it is like this then the problem is only in my head and I simply forgot which one i selected before the update edit: just read the above reply. ok is all in my head XD |

fyi, some versions of consolas have broken font metrics so many apps may reject it

I have the exact same problem. I wanted to change the code view font into something else (specifically MonacoB) but it does not appear on the list. Fonts seemed to be a hit-or-miss thing, as Droids Sans Mono appears on my list but not Source Code or Liberation Sans Mono.

The CodeView font requires a fixed width font like Courier or Courier New for spacing purposes. Are the fonts you are trying actually fixed width fonts and do they advertise themselves that way?

Hi,
I went to the official liberation fonts website (hosted by Redhat) and downloaded the latest liberation-fonts-ttf-1.07.4.tar.gz unpacked it and installed the LiberationMono (Regular - Bold, Italic) on my machine. The Sigil Preferences Appearance pull down for CodeView Fonts nicely showed Liberation Mono and I was easily able to add it (it is Sans and mono-spaced) and the preferences stayed. So there is nothing wrong with Sigil as long as you have properly added the fonts to your system so that Sigil can find them and the fonts are properly created and advertise their style upon query. I use Source Code (Win 10) and it shows up nicely, just like the other mono-spaced fonts.
