Yeah, the support staff in this forum do not get paid enough to cover the cost of charging our Kindle hardware collections. People must think this is a labor of love. I have put in too many thousands of hours for free (both here and at other forums), and that sure does not pay the bills, does it?

I'm currently using the 5.4.2. Can I upgrade to the 5.6.5? If yes where can I find the update?

Which version of PW do you have?

Though amazon still provides download links for their old firmware versions, they only link the newest firmware downloads to their current product pages for the various kindle models. I harvested these amazon download links from old versions of amazon web pages (at archive.org):

You did not give us enough context to give you a model specific answer.
Use the first four (or six) characters of your serial number and this chart:
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers

so in general:
Maybe yes.
Amazon.com download servers.
Those are for recovering a bricked Kindle, not normal updates.

Touchscreen devices use a complete system image for an update.
Getting the non-current update package from Amazon is a FGA, example:

Hi. I have PW2 and since a few month I'm regulary refreshing first page of this topic to wait the day, when Jailbreak will be complete. What was the happy, when I saw today - it's ready, I mean it's easy now to use.

Unfortunately I can't jailbrake it I have PW2 with Firmware 5.6.5 (2730300038). I upload files from "jb" to my Kindle, start browser, enter the address, press STEP1, cancel aeroplan mode off, back, press STEP2, massage on top bar was "JB Starting", next "Run ;fc-cache in the search bar.", waiting about minute and unfortunatelly last message "Jailbreak failed".

What's wrong with my steps? Am I forgot about something?

What does "cancel aeroplan mode off" mean? Is airplane mode ON or OFF? It shoud be on (i.e. radio off), or amazon can update your firmware and lock down your kindle.

Aeroplan mode is on. When I press STEP1, there show warning about aeroplan mode. I cancel it, like instruction on the first page: "When your Kindle complains about being in aeroplane mode, just cancel the warning, DO NOT turn on wifi."

I have the latest Paperwhite that I had jailbroken and I updated it with no problems encountered. Had to reinstall Python though.

Thanks, after the ;fc-cache command I got this screeen and apparently the jailbreak failed

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a wininfo_screenshot file, should I upload the content?
