I have the Onyx M96 and the Onyx Boox Max. There is a big difference between them. The 13.3 inch model is much more efficient to read bigger PDF files. I won't use the M96 as long as I can use the big one.

If you have the extra funds go for the Max ...

I think I will. Perhaps I will wait for a month, to see if some rival comes up with some alternative solution, including finger touch. If no Sony or Pocketbook offers anything better at a comparable price, Onyx Max will be my choice.

man, wish I read this post yesterday
I just ordered the N96ML with the front light. I was going back and fourth on that or waiting for a Max or checking out how well that good-e-reader one comes out.

I saw you have a kindle DX as well. My understanding is the M96 and N96 models have the same exact screen as the DX. Is that the case? Is there literally no difference in the quality of reading on those devices? I was hoping there may have been some advancements in the software or font rendering as I've always found the text to be jagged on the DX.

How much better is the Max screen? I read most programming and software architecture books and whitepapers so having the extra screen real estate is key for me.
