That's weird; it worked for me when I processed a Daniel Silva book. You can turn on the "Save HTML" option in settings so that when it gives that error, there will be an ASIN.authorsearchHtml.txt in the dmp folder which would help figure out why it couldn't find the elements it was looking for.
You may want to download the new version again as well, because I said I attached a new one but then forgot to actually do it

Actually, before I get into that, are you editing/translating the biographies and things yourself or are you grabbing that info from a different site?

There are no terms available on that Shelfari page, so it can't continue with the X-Ray. I'll have to make that error more specific
You could either add some to Shelfari or make an XML/TXT file with characters yourself.
The txt file format is as follows, each item being on a separate line:

the word 'character' or 'topic', describing whether the next line has a character or a topic/glossary word
character/term's name
description
character/topic
name
description
character/topic
name
description

Cool. Do you just need to translate the biography or were you hoping to do all the book titles as well? Darrenmcg suggested just popping up a text file similar to how the alias/chapters work that would let you edit the biography.
If you need to do the book titles as well it would be a bit more involved.
