X-link to the DRM-free thread for a new StoryBundle offering:

The Nerd History Bundle contains only one fiction book, but it's an anthology sponsored by the National Maritime Museum of the UK, with sfnal tales about 18th-19th century scientists & thinkers, including computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace. Some of the ensuing stories and art have been selected for recognition like the Tiptree Award Honours list, among others. It's available at the $3 minimum tier.

ETA: also, there's a lot of sfnal series featured in the new Humble Manga Bundle from Kodansha Comics.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't read Godspeed, but 3 of the other books in the bundle are from his Jupiter series, which go for $5.99 or $6.99 each. Now I just have to find the other 3 in the series, some which is written by different authors.

They're all sold by Baen (or at least they were when I bought them).

Unfortunately the Jupiter novels are not as good as the Heinlein juveniles. An OK read, but I found some bits irritating.

I thought that the first one, "Higher Education", was excellent. I enjoyed the others a lot less. None was a "stinker", but certainly some were unmemorable.

Thanks, heard about this book a while ago, sounded interesting. I haven't read any sci-fi in ages.

They're also on sale at Kobo, if you're an epub reader, or if you find it easier to go on vacation there.

I read City of Pearl back in 2011 and seemed to enjoy it. So I'll pick up the sequel at £1.99.
