·Kindle Paperwhite: The Paperwhite is $119.99. It features a backlight powered by four LEDS and a 300 ppi resolution screen.

·Kindle Voyage: The Voyage was Amazon’s first foray into luxury Kindles and comes in at $199.99. It has six LEDs and an adaptive light sensor for the backlight, as well as a touch sensor on the case to change pages.

·Kindle Oasis: The Oasis is the newest Kindle model, and costs an absolutely insane $289.99. That $300 gets you a backlight powered by 10 LEDs, hardware buttons for turning pages, and a charging cover that keeps your Kindle alive for months between charges instead of weeks.

No eink device has a "backlight". An eink screen is opaque, and hence cannot be illuminated from the back.

There's a lot of misinformed and downright confusing information on that site. Whoever wrote it needs to hire a proofreader or perhaps buy a pair of glasses. For anyone not familiar with glasses, I've provided an image for clarification.

Check out this nonsensical quote:

There is no better version of the Oasis, because this is the ONLY Oasis.

Are they tech writers or baiters looking for the clicks?
I thought I recognized that blog.
Use caution when looking at that site.
They tend to scrape the internet and don't actually look at the products themselves.
Only good thing is they do on occasion link to good sites.

I must say that people who casually write or blog about tech devices like eInk readers are not really "tech writers" at all. They are more like self taught journalists or bloggers, and they are as inaccurate as most American journalists tend to be. These bozos are not connected to any high tech company at all. They are just blow-hards that tend to think they know something about certain devices. And I'm NOT just referring to this particular website. I'm referring to all the blogging sites that try to act like they are experts on certain devices and technology. Saying you are something does NOT make it so.

A technical writer is an actual trained professional that writes technical documents/manuals for a living.
