Thanks for this info! My BB order still shows "preparing for shipping." It's been that way since yesterday. But if BB is shipping UPS Next Day Air Saver, there is still hope that I will get it tomorrow!

Interestingly, a friend of mine ordered from Amazon with an expected ship date of May 2 and delivery on May 4. But she says her credit card was just charged and her status changed to "preparing for shipping" — but the estimated ship date is still May 2

A firmware update for the Oasis just showed up on the Amazon Fire & Kindle Software Updates page.

Mine has said "preparing for shipment for over 24 hours now. How long does it take to prepare for shipment?! Getting impatient here. I want it tomorrow.

Just now got notice that it shipped. No tracking available yet. Shipped by UPS.

My estimate on Amazon is Friday, but UPS currently estimates they can get it delivered tomorrow, end of workday ... I hope they make it :-)

I'll have my Oasis tomorrow - in Seattle, and I'll be sure to post some impressions regarding screen uniformity, - something that has prevented me enjoying any Kindle since the Kindle Touch (despite my wife having every Kindle since, and the uniformity issues not annoying her enough).

Meh. If you're spending $300 on an ereader in 2016 then that puts you in either the upper middle class category or the unwise spending category.

The fact that you consider it unwise doesn't mean that everyone shares your view. Even people on low incomes sometimes save up to buy nice things!
