The Grain-Free Family Table: 125 Delicious Recipes for Fresh, Healthy Eating Every Day. By Carrie Vitt. Rated 4.7 stars, from 186 reviews at Amazon at the present moment. Print list price $29.99; digital list price $11.99; Kindle price now $0.99. William Morrow Cookbooks, publisher. 304 pages. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IMHOH9S.

Book Description
Paleo-friendly meets family-friendly in this beautiful, full-color how-to guide and cookbook that teaches readers how to cut all grains out of their diets without giving up flavorful, delicious food.

When Carrie Vitt was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, she was put on an elimination diet to cleanse her system that forbid gluten and grains. Failing to find recipes that followed her strict diet guidelines and still were delicious, she began experimenting in her own kitchen. Her organic, grain-free creations not only satisfied her own palate, but pleased friends and family as well. While she eventually reversed her thyroid disease, she continues to champion eating grain free.

In this beautiful full-color cookbook, she provides delicious dishes for a workable organic, grain-free lifestyle. Included are a diverse range of recipes for everything from pie crust and homemade nut butter to Pork Carnitas Breakfast Crepe Tacos and Grain-Free Biscuits, Avocado with Mango-Shrimp Salsa, Roasted Garlic Alfredo with Chicken and Vegetables, and Cauliflower “Fried Rice.” Here, too, are kid-friendly recipes such as Squash Macaroni and Cheese, Slice-and-Bake Cookies, and a Classic Birthday Cake with Buttercream Frosting.

In addition to sources for healthy ingredients, time-saving ideas, health tips, and 125 easy grain-free recipes, there are also simple dairy-free and Paleo adaptations for each recipe (it’s as simple as choosing coconut oil in place of butter!). Written in Carrie’s warm, inviting style, this helpful sourcebook is the perfect entrée to a healthy, nourishing diet that brings grain-free eating into the mainstream.

Huge, FREE Cookbook for Diabetics, from Highly Rated Author Don Orwell.

I could find only one rating for this book. But the author's other books at Amazon (of which there are many) are all almost invariably rated very highly, the book is huge, and it's free. And this is the second edition, which says something positive, too. I'm buying it (and I'm not even diabetic)--and posting it!

Diabetic Cookbook For One: Over 200 Diabetes Type-2 Quick & Easy Gluten Free Low Cholesterol Whole Foods Recipes full of Antioxidants & Phytochemicals (Natural Weight Loss Transformation 206) (Second Edition). By Don Orwell. Rated 5 stars, but from only 1 review, at Amazon at the present time. Print list price $16.99; digital list price $3.69; Kindle price now $0.00. Superfoods Today, publisher. 410 pages. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DR4UUV4/.

Book Description
Diabetic Cookbook for One - second edition contains over 200 Superfoods Diabetics recipes for Diabetes Type 2, created with 100% Diabetic Superfoods ingredients. All recipes are prepared for diabetic cooking for one or two. This 300+ pages long book contains recipes for:

• Grilled meats
• Side dishes
• Crockpot recipes

Microwave Goddess by Olivia Callan

Full of tried and tested recipes for delicious sounding (and hopefully delicious tasting) meals such as risotto, quiche, cheesy broccoli and other meals you would never have thought could be made in a microwave.

"the lifeblood of students and bachelors everywhere"

But I think few students who cook bacon in the microwave are going to use five layers of paper towels nor will they transfer the cooked bacon to a second dish.

Scrambled eggs should have a little butter, too.

Digital List Price $18.99; Kindle Price Now $1.99--David Rocco's Made in Italy.

In case you like numbers and figures and statistics and things like that, that's a 90% markdown--one of the biggest markdowns that I've seen on an ebook of this caliber in quite a while.

If for some reason you don't want to pony up the $1.99 for this book, you'll at least want to copy David Rocco's recipe for Castagne Umbriacchi (Drunken Chestnuts), found on the book's webpage at Amazon. It looks to-die-for.

Here's a bonus for you that I dug up. The Cooking Channel has a webpage with 233 recipes of Rocco's.

Made in Italy. By David Rocco. Rated 4.3 stars, from 31 reviews at the present time at Amazon. Print list price $35.00; digital list price $18.99; Kindle price now $1.99. Clarkson Potter, publisher. 400 pages. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006HUIRKW.

Book Description
On his hit Cooking Channel show David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, David and his wife, Nina, travel around Italy, exploring the very best foods of every region, making friends wherever they go. From his modern flat in Florence to the lemon groves of the Amalfi coast, David shares recipes for the local favorites he encounters, including a refreshing Caprese salad with avocado, weeknight chicken breasts with fragrant rosemary and chili flakes, a Sunday meat stew flavored with tomatoes and red wine, and the easy apple-yogurt cake he prepares with his twin daughters.

Made in Italy features 140 simple, rustic Italian dishes that any home cook can accomplish—all with David’s signature style. With photographs of gorgeous food and sweeping images of the Italian countryside, this book will inspire cooks across America to bring Italy to life in their own homes.

Thanks for the post.

This looks like a really good book. First, it's got a 4.8 stars rating at Amazon, from 31 reviews. Second, it's got a good number of pages, 238, especially to be a self pub as it is. Third, the inside particularly, is very attractive, again especially for it to be a self pub. The book is loaded with colorful photos and graphics which not only sometimes lend visual interest, but also are many times highly informative.

I love coffee. But I've got to find some way to curb the $2.50/day expense of my frappuccino addiction. Hopefully, there'll be a recipe or two in this book so that I can start making them for myself.

UK readers may wish to note that one of our Pound shop chains, Poundland, has 250g of vacuum packed medium ground coffee for £1 usually on the shelf.

No good if you use a capsule machine however.
