I carry mine in the foam case in the picture it's big enough to hold two kindle devices and my wireless keyboard. So I just slip the case into my backpack.

In a pocket, the device is stuck in one place. In my bag, i can take it off my back if need be or I can move it as needed to prevent bumping. It's that easy. In a pocket, it's not that easy.

A small over the shoulder Converse bag that's just big enough for it and a few other small things.

The device in a backpack moves around as you walk unless you have it tied down in there. Just placing the bag on the ground can jostle your device. Having it in your pocket is more secure in my opinion, at least then you know exactly where it is and what's touching it.

In the pocket, you have no control over the Reader. I've been in situations where a Reader in a pocket could get broken, but in my backpack, I'm able to move it as needed to prevent getting bashed. So overall, my backpack is safer than a pocket. |

Just get a zip case for your kindle. You can get something manly that zips.

I agree. I've been lurking for awhile and just now decided to register to talk about the Oasis, but I too wonder why Katie always comes across so extremely rude, aggressive and defensive. I find it quite puzzling as everyone else seems quite nice.

![]() I think you will find there are always outliers in every population. Just please stay away from the opt-in Politics and Religion subforum -- the stuff quarantined in there ranges from convivial to chillingly polite to aggressively hostile all the time.(Also the technical-minded Developer's Corner can get very sharp with perceived deadweight. The perils of communicating with distractable hackers and all.) |

![]() Actually, that would be a separate point, unrelated to my extending greetings to a first-time poster. I don't usually hang out in the Introduce Yourself subforum, but that doesn't mean I can't greet them when they cross my path anyway.
