Despite still having reservations about a flush screen I am now really tempted by the Voyage at that price. Popped into my local Currys and they only had the PW3 out so I still haven't had a good look at one. Hmmm.

Or I can blame you for making me spend money I do appreciate the flush screen on the Voyage though - it's quite nice to no longer have to remove all the cat hairs that would get stuck between the screen and the bezel

The flush screen is a huge benefit for me. I'm curious to know why you have doubts about it?

I have no idea - probably just used to the non-flush ones or something! I've ordered one now anyway, so we'll see how I get in with it I probably shouldn't have but the price was a bit too good to refuse!

FYI although you've already went ahead and ordered, John Lewis in Glasgow have the PW and the Voyage on display next to one another. I went ahead and got the Voyage just for the improved screen clarity. I'm sure the Oasis will look a little better in low lighting conditions, but its just too expensive for me.

I think the flush screen of the Voyage helps to make the text seem more immediate. I'm not quite sure what I mean by that but when I'm reading that feeling is there.

I have a Voyage and the latest Paperwhite and the difference in reading on them is pretty small but reading on the Voyage is a slightly better experience. The flush bezel is part of the reason.

They must have seen me coming and hid them from me or, more likely, I was too blind to see them - I went on my lunch hour so I was in a little bit of a rush. I'll be getting my Voyage today so I'll get to see one for myself soon enough

It's quite possible My small-ish local Waitrose-that-doubles-up-as-a-JL in Canary Wharf has them with the bluetooth speakers & mp3 players rather than with the tablets. Also they only have the Basic and PW on display but do in fact have Voyages for sale, hence why I though it was highly likely I'd get one still on 5.6.5 (because jailbreak ). Nah they've just got them hidden at the far end next to the cameras. I had to ask if they had any because I couldn't find them near the tablets. The Voyage on display needed rebooted before it would work and doesn't even have any books on it. But I was able to compare the two with both showing dictionaries

Mines on 5.6.5 too and I don't plan on updating right now so I can keep the dots on the book list screen. Not sure its worth jailbreaking?

Incidentally, despite loving the buttons on my old Kindle Keyboard, I'm now so used to the touch screen I'm not liking the page press sensors on the Voyage and have just turned them off after one day of using them.

The reason I JB'd mine was so I could substitute a stock font for my favorite font, thus negating the need for me to embed the font in every book. Now I can read books directly from Amazon without having to go through the process. (I choose download and transfer via USB, because I also do not want to upgrade).

Don't give up on the page press sensors, you might find you like them after using them more. I love them!

And to keep to the topic, can't wait for all you folks to start talking about your new Oasis!
