Pdf line spacing in Calibre Viewer

Hi,

I have an all-text pdf file. It looks ok. on Sumatra and on Foxit Reader. I want to read it on Calibre's viewer but the line spacing is so increased that is not comfortable to read. Tweaking the CSS or other settings hasn't changed anything. Does anyone know the way to change how pdfs look on Calibre's viewer?

Thanks in advance...

I use the OS viewer for PDF (native mode) so there is no on the fly conversion.
Where did you change the CSS?
What was the Viewers settings (it can be set to ignore much of a CSS)

As theducks wrote, Calibre does an on-fly conversion to EPUB, it does this for all formats, except EPUB of course.

Converting PDFs is 'hard to do' because the conversion software tries to cater for the full gamut of PDF complexities and idiosyncrasies. See the following for a fuller explanation ==>> Read this before Posting PDF Questions

If you really want to read it with the calibre viewer I would recommend converting the PDF to ePUB (the thread above discusses various alternatives for doing this) and fixing any problems with an ePUB editor, or a word processor, or both.

On a text only PDF you may even be able to tweak the conversion settings to get a near perfect conversion.

BR

The calibre ebook-viewer is a really, really bad PDF viewer. Please use your OS default instead.

Reason:
The ebook-viewer uses EPUB under the hood, and when opening a different format, it first performs an on-the-fly conversion to EPUB.
PDF is a really bad conversion source, so it usually comes out horrible.

EDIT: Ninjaed by BetterRed...

Under "Configure Ebook Viewer">"User Stylesheet" I have changed the line-spacing parameter of the CSS code. I have also tried with no CSS. That also hasn't helped.

Thanks a lot for the link of that post. I did a forum search before writing this post but didn't come across that one.
