Notice from Amazon Cloud Drive About Send to Kindle

I received this odd notice in my Amazon Cloud Drive "Send to Kindle" folder (it was actually a Word doc in the folder; no email): Quote:

It means while the documents may be there, any changes you make on whichever app won't change in the cloud.

It means your Kindle Personal Documents will no longer be added to Amazon's homegrown Dropbox competitor. Wow -- we all care. |

I use Send to Kindle to keep my iphone/iPad and Voyage synced. I sent a document at the weekend but didn't get that message. I also don't understand what it means either.

Apparently, my densitude knows no bounds, because I still don't understand what's changed, despite the kind attempts to explain above. When I send personal documents (dual-mobi) to Send to Kindle, they appear on my Voyage, they appear in the "Send to Kindle" folder in Amazon Cloud Drive, they appear on "Manage your content and devices" page. So what has changed? As far as I can tell there's no difference |

I just signed in to my Cloud Drive and it says it's empty therefore Send to Kindle must not be stored there as I have over 300 ebooks sent as Personal Documents.

Mine still had all my send to kindle docs in, I deleted them all and they went from my kindle docs. Decided to just clear it out as I dont use them and they just interfere with searches.

Maybe what we're all missing is - what other usage is there for amazon's Cloud Drive, besides our Kindles? We only use it for our kindle documents. Does amazon expect us to use the Could drive for something else?

Mine has any photos I take with my Fire 10 or Phone. I don't use it for anything else. Sounds to me Amazon going to Discontinue the Service you best be backing you e-books up else where. IMO |

Aren't they still charging for the Cloud service? They want people to actively use it. Or, they used to, anyway. They just weren't considering our kindle books as part of that, as our kindle usage was "bought" with our kindle purchase.

Well I pay for the yearly amazon cloud service, so its still there. Its the cheapest I could find since Dropbox is like twice as much. I use send to kindle for books I get in other places converted to mobi and also recipes. I use both the desktop version and and the chrome add on. So far I haven't noticed a difference. I haven't uploaded anything though in a few days as far as personal document goes. |

So I did some send to kindle today and what I can say is that those docs do not show up in my amazon cloud drive send to kindle folder anymore. But they do in my manage my devices page on amazon. I think they are just separating the kindle things out of the cloud drive. They are still backed up in my manage kindle pages. its kind of fine for me as long as I can still access them to other kindle devices. I mean I could not do that anyway from the cloud drive. Send the docs to other devices that is. |

@Atunah: Thanks for that info. I just sent a personal doc and it still showed up in my Amazon Cloud Drive Send to Kindle folder, but based on what you and others have found, I'm guessing that won't continue for long. However, it doesn't bother me as long as I can still access these docs on all my devices and WhisperSync still works |
