Or maybe Best Buy has some weird idea that people who buy expensive readers only read longer books. If every book you load on the reader has 1000 + pages, then clearly you would not be able to fit as many books as someone who only reads books that are 200 pages or less

Can't get much clearer than that.

I -- personally -- haven't been able to see the USB port on the cover (or even where it would be). But I tend to take the word of someone who is actually using the device over guessing. I suppose it's possible he could be living in an alternate reality -- or have a prototype Oasis not released to the public.
No question on the clarity of what he said, but do keep in mind that he only had a single opportunity with limited time to examine the device. That is not the same as someone who has a unit at their home, and can fiddle around with it to their hearts content. It is not inconceivable that he misremembered what he saw, or misinterpreted it. After all, I am sure he was paying more attention to the quality of the screen and the new appearance/ergonomics of the device than to the USB port(s)

Do not think this will have a big effect.
A petition to urge Amazon to offer a Vegan Cover Option for the Kindle Oasis? For those who want it, and I know some of our members do, it couldn't hurt.

I don't load really long books on my Kindle. It makes it too heavy to hold.

The books he was talking about were not long they were the same length with more pages which would be thick.

Too long would make them unwieldy, but too thick makes them heavy .

I guess that too long would be the bane of the Oasis though. It would offset all that lovely ergonomics with the weight in the palm of your hand.

More pages definitely make the ereader heavier. That's why I don't enlarge the font on the longer books I read. Larger font = more pages.

And some of you people want fonts with more weight. With all those heavy letters you will need a truck to move the damn thing.

Just wait until they release the new Tuna font. It will be both heavy and smelly

Yep. And next thing we know, there'll be a new tweet from Jeff B. from Seattle. " Heads up readers – all-new, top of the line Kindle-accessory almost ready. Revolutionary solution to carry your Kindle around. Details next week."

And he'll show us.... the Piaggio. Electric. With a 12V port to charge your Kindle while driving.
"I might not be vegan, but I sure am green"
There you are, problem solved. Although there never was a problem to begin with. It was all planned from the start.

I just realized where the tuna comes in. It's the soon to be announced cover for the pescatarian -- it's made out of fish instead of cowhide. Tuna skin is smoother than some fish, it has tiny scales, so it might make a good leather. I looked it up on Google and tuna leather is a thing, although I would frankly have thought shark skin would have been a better choice for leather from a fish.

What's wrong with that? looks like the magnetic charging port on my torch.
