Amazon does not consider their Fire an Android device.
Slightly different operating systems.

That promotion was to get Android tablet users to start using Amazon instead of Google Play.

Explain. The Fire has never been an Android. It is similar to an Android. But the OS are different.
That would be like saying the Robot on Lost in Space and Data on Star Trek are the same.
Or a Mac and a PC are the same.

I received my $5 credit this morning. I used my Moto E2. Now to buy some ebooks before it expires.

Classical-music.com's latest freebie . . . .

This week's free download is the final movement 'Allegro Molto Vivace' from Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Written in 1844, the concerto was Mendelssohn's last major orchestral work before his death in 1847. The work was an instant success and has been a core part of the concerto repertory ever since.

The soloist on this recording is Jennifer Pike, who plays with a 'sweet, singing tone and graceful phrasing' writes Roger Nichols in the March issue of BBC Music Magazine.

Once again, the procedure to get it and listen to it is:
1. Go to Classical-music.com's free download page.
2. If you don't see "download now" on the thumbnail of the album, you need to log in. So, log in.
3. Return to Classical-music.com's free download webpage and click on "download now."
4. The download should start. Wait for it to finish.
5. Open. Listen. Enjoy.

I downloaded this track (there is only an MP3) without any issues. I played it and it sounded fine.

FireOS is a fork of Android, and continues to be based on it. It'd be a better comparison between Data and Lore on Star Trek: The Next Generation. (I'll leave it up to you to decide which one is the evil Lore.

) The launcher is still the biggest difference, although at least they let you switch it out now. But to say the OS is as different as Mac OSX and Windows is just wrong. It's more comparable to different Linux distros, such as Debian and Fedora.

Good luck with that. They never responded to my support ticket about expiring my credit either. Just totally ignored it. Nothing in my spam folder either. I'm seriously thinking about calling them and yelling a bit.

Early??? This is a new offer. I posted it two days ago. This is the second $5 credit they're offered within the past month. The first one can be found here.
