Yes definitely. I used a sleep cover on my first kindle PW, a cover on Nook simple touch and the present Kobo Aura H2O has a thin sleep cover.

The e-ink screen is very delicate and I am worried for its safety while I am using it and storing it. The cover protects the device's screen and also serve the purpose of putting the device to sleep just by closing the cover. Very convenient.

I've always used a cover on all my readers to protect the screen from scratches & marks & to help keep it clean.

I had a cover on my K2 since day one and when I sold it 4 years later it still looked new. I use a case on my DX but if I am at home I will read without it to make it a little lighter.

I never have a cover on the device while reading. I do have a hard-shell case that I use to save the ereader from being squashed when it is in my backpack or pannier, but I remove it completely to read. At home I usually just leave the ereader upside-down on a hard surface to protect the screen.

The origami cover for the Kindle Voyage is the most functional cover I've ever had on an ereader. I don't tend to read while sitting in an easy chair, I'm either at a table or lying on my side in bed. I prop the cover open, and can read at the table or in bed without having to hold the Kindle.

I can not imagine keeping my Kobo in my handbag without a cover, otherwise I would have broken my screen several times by now.

I'm a bit of a butterfingers so have always used covers. To date, I have not broken any of my ereaders, although they have had a few falls (fortunately not onto hard floors).

I also find it easier and more comfortable to hold my readers in a cover.

Last but not least, like a previous poster, I like to "close" my book by closing the cover. I am happy to still have that as part of my reading experience.

I switch between a cover and a silicone shell for my Voyage. My Kobo Mini only has a silicone shell. I would love to get shells for my Kobo Glo HD and Aura HD, but can't find them. So my Glo HD stays in a case. Aura HD lives in a pouch. I even have shells for my three tablets (which I also have cases for).

I keep a soft device pouch in my purse for whichever device I take out of the house.

The only one I ever broke was in a case when I dropped it on a hard floor.

I use a cover and a sleeve. The cover always stats on, and I put the whole ensemble inside a cushioned sleeve when carrying my Kindle inside a bag with other items.

Yes, I use covers for my phone, reader, and tablet. These devices cost too much money to be careless about not protecting them as much as I can.

Almost never. I do use one when I've packed the ereader away for a trip, to keep it a little safer while it's packed away in a suitcase, but I take the cover off to read.

So, it currently looks like a 102% of us have voted. "Vote early and vote often."

Uhhhh, never mind. I was reading the vote counts, not the percentages. They were amazingly close.
