Very nice. All the other ebook stores should copy that. It even tells you how many books you have. Hum, I may have to do some downloading. It thinks I have 100 more books that I have in by baen directory.

Very well done, indeed. You can download the first 100 books, then those books are put at the end of the list, making it easy to get the next 100 and so on. I download all 830 book in less than 10 minutes.

I just spent a good chunk of the last week moving all 6000+ of my ebooks at B&N from archived to active, just so I could bulk download them all using the no-longer-supported Nook for PC application. When I kicked it off with about half of the books still archived, I'm pretty sure it took a lot longer than 40 minutes. If it takes all night to download 6000 ebooks, I'm fine with that. The current Nook app looks like you have to click on each book to get it to download it.

I'm on a Mac Pro, and I get this message:

Time servers

Those usually are for setting your system clock

Baen has to set its servers to the correct time that you are currently occupying. For instance, when Dr. Drib attempted to connect, Baen was trying to set the servers to April 2016. If they don't get the time right, you may have access to books you've purchased in the future, or not have access to books that you have purchased but after the time that the servers are set to.

I'm sorry, but I meant Barnes and Nobles [nook], and not Baen. (bgalbrecht was speaking about B&N, I thought -; however, I don't mean to hijack the thread, which is concerned with Baen.)

I was responding to pdwalker8's wish that other retailers would do bulk downloads. B&N used to have one, it sometimes works, but it's no longer supported. I'm a third of the way through downloading my Kindle books on Windows with an AutoIt script, but it keeps dying.

In order to bring it back to Baen, I noticed that it automatically adds the Baen Free Library to the list of books you can download. I have three accounts there, and I ended up downloading the books from the free library with each account.

Several years ago, when the guy who originally designed it all (Arnold) had health issues, they switched to some consultant who frankly had issues. I'm not sure if the original consultant finally figured things out, or if they switched to someone else, but I agree, whomever is doing it now seems to have things in order now. Things just work.

Well this is good news indeed, now if it'll send me the password reset e-mail. (They apparently force-expired them in August.) Been 10-15 minutes now, still not received it. Kind of worrying me a bit.

Edit: Finally got the reset e-mail. Took around 30 minutes total.
