The Oasis User Guide was *very* minimally editted to accomodate the Oasis. They don't even bother to mention that the software can report the value of the case battery level and the value of the Oasis's battery level. (Seen clearly in the Portugese video, on page 18 of this thread.) That's an important statistic. So I'm not sure they would bother to mention that the case can be charged separately. Somebody just inserted the word Oasis in one or two places, and that's all.

The Q&A answers on the product page have always been answered by ordinary users who already have the product. So, like, at the moment .... they are being answered by anybody who jolly well feels like it, clearly!! They've never seen the device either.

Actually, I already owned it. Until this thread, I never realized it was also a docking station for my Kindle 7. Who'd a thunk?

I noticed this as well. It does not describe the correct location of the page orientation option, for example. The manual cannot be counted on to be accurate about every detail.

Do any of the reviews on YouTube show a charging port on the cover, for example?

I've not seen any. But just a few notes above yours, we have email confirmation from a hands-on reviewer who says it's there.

UK delivery dates now announced on my double-I-can't-make-my-mind up order....

Merlot - 30th August
Walnut - 29th July

That's a long time to be thinking can I really spend £330 on an ereader! I don't think I am going to end up owning one of these

So it's moving into the future by about a month and a half a day.

I don't think I'm going to change my mind and cancel, because if I did it's quite possible my existing PW1 might die of old age before I could reorder!

I usually wait long enough for them to iron out the first-batch bugs. With those dates, I could pre-order, and they'd STILL have worked out the bugs before my order gets to me!

These were ordered yesterday. Took twenty-four hours to get a date!

I have one similar to this, never thought of it as a docking station.
